Who are your favorites?

I needed a good laugh tonight, but I didn't know which comedians were or were not worth listening to.

(Let's just say that I'm not too fond of Carlos Mencia). :innocent:

So far, my collection consists of:

Dane Cook.
- funny sometimes. I have to be in the mood.

Demetri Martin.
- great one-liners.

Jim Gaffigan.
- Hot Pockets!

Who else is funny? :flower:

My favourites are:

Russell Brand
Alan Carr
Michael McIntyre
Jo Brand
Joan Rivers

^Do they have CDs or anything that can be downloaded? :woot:

oh, i'm not sure, to be honest. i know amy occasionally does voice-over work for audio books (for her brother, comedian david sedaris - who i also recommend) but other than that, i know wanda and margaret both have some comedy specials on dvd. the rest have television shows - julia has the new adventures of old christine (wanda's in it too!), tina has 30 rock (very funny!), and amy, maya, and kristen are in SNL.

Brian Regan - great observational humour.
Jimmy Carr - deadpan.

Stephen Colbert.
Ellen DeGeneres. I don't find her show funny but i saw two tv programmes of her doing stand up routines and she was HILARIOUS.

Jon Stewart! He was on Larry King Live a week or two ago and was just hilarious.

Kevin James is great, too.

Also... Dave Chappelle. While he can be crass at times, his stand-ups are the best. Good stuff.

go and watch Robin Williams live on Broadway....i was in tears the first two times i watched it...i recommend it to practically everyone i meet....
he does a skit about the invention of golf....and then another on the bible and the parting of the sea...i thought i was going to die laughing.! seriously good stuff...he is a genius imo...

Jim Gaffigan.
- Hot Pockets!

He kills me! :P
Breakfast Hotpocket- Good morning, you're about to call in sick.

I love Brian Reagan and Jerry Seinfeld too.
I would say those three are my fave. "clean" comedians.

All time fave would be Richard Pryor- followed pretty close by Dave Chapelle.
I don't find Dave crass at all....
I think he is sweet even.
Jim Norton- he is crass. ( but very funny)

Eddie Murphy back in the 80's was great too.
Those leather get ups though.:ninja:

My fave hometown boy ( Boston) is Mike Berbiglia- cracker!
I have no love for Dane Cook.

Mitch Hedburg and Kathy Griffin. If only Mitch wasn't dead.

And Kathy is just funny, I don't care if anyone thinks she annoying. She does her shows without caring at all that she alienates herself and makes people not like her ,and that's brave.

ralphie may : just go to youtube!
chris rock
noel fielding

Can't believe I left off Chris Rock- he kills me too.

(Let's just say that I'm not too fond of Carlos Mencia). :innocent:

An unfunny man stealing funny material and making it unfunny....
who wouldn't like that?

He was a bit better back in the day when an unknown.

I like David Cross, a bit obscene but hilarious
He's got a few CDs and I think there is a link to his Coachella set somewhere

David Mitchell and Robert Webb from the UK are great too. They used to have a radio program and now have a couple of TV shows ... check out Peep Show if you can.

Billy Connolly is hilare but Jo Brand just makes me absolutely cry with laughter, she's just so dry I love her.
