Alexander McQueen has his eyes open to the world around him, finding beauty and inspiration in places others wouldn't dare imagine such things could exist. "I shot the images using a thermal imaging camera, similar to the one used for underground detection of bodies at ground zero," McQueen explains. "The images represent the relationship between a dead fiber—the fabric—with a live fiber—the girls' skin. It's all about life."

^ one of his most recent gems.:cry:

I loved the one you posted, Flashbang, it's such a classic, timeless photograph that one, India, the fragility of the dress, Natalia, it all fits perfectly, it's beautiful.. and also so sad to look at it now.

Some of my favorite pictures that I could gather for now.

Nylon 2003

35387s8.jpg

A couple of snaps and quotes from a lovely interview he gave for Nylon February 2004.

"Fashion is a fickle business, but that doesn't mean that you have to be fickle to work in it, I want to be honest about the world that we live in, and sometimes my political persuasions come through in my work."
[On his S/S 04 show's end where the final dancer sank exhausted to the floor and was carried off by McQueen and the choreographer] "It was kind of poignant in terms of what's going on in America today, it's a reflection on the government, not just of my country or in America but all over the world, it doesn't matter what your place in society is, at the end of the day we're all flesh and flood.."

There's a quote on that same interview, that I used as my first signature here, which I still think it's a clever description to his mark on the industry:

"I'm feeding them little sugar cubes with the medicine hidden inside"

I loved the F/W 06.07 Philip Treacy for Alexander McQueen feather headdresses.
They were used in so many editorials. These are my favorite shots.

I love this picture and this dress. The tights over her arms, the blood-red, the pale skin - this surely is one magnificent piece by him.

So beautiful. I've been looking all over for some photography of his enchanted garden SS 07 collection...anyone know of anything?
