Casting the cover of March is just one of the ways that producing this issue is akin to putting on a Broadway show. We are looking for the right blend of characters, compelling narratives, and—this is Vogue, after all—exquisitely designed costumes. Intriguing individuals are not exactly in short supply in this issue, and I am particularly pleased that the spotlight is being shown on 28-year-old English actress Felicity Jones. Felicity has navigated the move from young stage actress to movie ingenue while barely drawing breath. One senses that she, like Adele, is a woman who will do things her own way—whether it was passing up a big-budget Hollywood epic in favor of treading the boards at London's Donmar Warehouse theater, or surprisingly deciding to sign on as a new face of Dolce & Gabbana cosmetics, a label whose high-gloss glamour might at first be seen to be at odds with her own decidedly bookish and English (in other words, pretty/grungy) approach to fashion. Yet whenever I've seen Felicity out and about in her la dolce vita guise, she has looked absolutely adorable, making it entirely her own.
