Fendi Haute Couture F/W 2019.20 Rome

Bernard Arnault promised a Retrospective and while he lied because we had none of that in that show, THAT WAS A F****** MOMENT!
FABULOUS Collection!
Amazing craftmanship! So modern and yet dreamy!
I’m in heaven right now....

We were so into Chanel that we missed that he also trained a fantastic Atelier at Fendi! This has his eccentricity and the perfect dose of modernity and past.

This is what Couture should look like from a Fur and Accessories house!
I could write an essay about how fabulous that show and that collection was!

Bravo Silvia! Bravo the Atelier! Fendi is saved!

Unbelievably beautiful. This collection really has to be seen in motion and there are so mamy details, truly insane details I would say. The editing was perfect, too - they could have gone for 100+ looks yet they kept it very tight, that's why it's so strong and the mood didn't become watered down after 10 looks. Also, it might be better that it wasn't strictly retrospective due to the fact that Karl was against the idea of looking back to archives. However, Fendi really has to take care of the design team, it's simply one of the best in the world. They just can't replace Karl with some untalented Maria Grazia, that would be a disaster.

Oh Lord. I'm getting Gucci vibes. Maybe it's the hair.

If you would have told me this was Roberto Cavalli I would believe it. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s very soft and excessive. Those are two words I never previously associated with Fendi. It’s a promising new direction for the house.

Miss Silvia is having a great time with herself on this collection and we’re here for it!

Amazing collection.

Everything came together for this collection. The clothes, the setting, the models...it was so dreamy and beautiful. I loved almost every outfit.

Finally a couture moment with some humour thrown in! It's freaking fabulous, finally for this season we can see a collection executed without the designer taking themselves too seriously. This has humour, whimsy and fabulous construction! J'adore!

Easily the best couture collection of the season! Silvia DELIVERED!

Humour as in haha ? I'm genuinely curious.
I love reading people's comments on collections to develop my knowledge

I saw humor as pushing the total look to matching the hair with the outfit and how the early 00’s kind of Glamour is mixed in quite a romantic collection.

This is not 70’s, this is 70’s through the eyes of early 00´s for today.

^Thank you for explaining. I see the obvious : the 70's, the glamour, the romantic and also a bit of hippie style but not early 00's or humour :(
But it's a beautiful Couture collection nonetheless and we can see the inspiration, the common thread and it's not as heavy or going everywhere unlike some other collections from this season

This is not only artisanal and you can tell the amount of attention to detail in here, but also is really wearable! Of course, for a one-off event, but looks amazing, not just art for its sake, but actually flattering!
Love!

Yes! It’s great that it’s wearable and this is actually very modern. Even the big gowns were practical.
I mean, Alta Moda’s tradition is more relaxed than the Parisian Couture.

Much like Karl’s last season, they continued the Fur/No fur narrative... I think Fendi HC might be a permanent affair. Everybody is moving away from fur so Fendi has a potential to expand, even more giving that they can imitate fur while using natural fabrics.

At least, when looking at this, I don’t have the same concerns that I have for Chanel. That being said, Silvia should give the menswear to Lucas Ossendrijver.
