Hi everyone :flower:. Well, after debating whether or not a hobo style can be timeless, over the weekend I bit the bullet and bought a new Ferragamo style hobo :D. I’ve had my eye on this bag for a couple of weeks and I just couldn’t resist any longer; here are the pics. Sorry for the picture quality, but it seems to be pretty much impossible to take true photos with a camera phone. You can’t see the actual color, but it’s a nice caramel-ish color… What do you think: timeless or fad :flower::flower:?

i'm not a huge fan of hobos, but i like the way this one slouches.
enjoy!

Thanks! Funny, but I was NEVER a fan of hobos either until I saw this bag. It really is quite enjoyable!

Oh, and I just looked over my initial post for this thread and realized that I may have been misleading when I said "new Ferragamo style"... It is a real Ferragamo, just a new style for them. It just came to the Ferragamo store about two weeks ago... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that it was a fake designed to look like an authentic... I hope I'm making sense.

Personally, I think that it is a bit faddish. The tassles and slanted zippers remind me of botkier. But what really matters is if you like it.

my initial reaction was faddish but then decided maybe not so because i remember my mum using a bag with the same kind of tassles when i was really young. So i would say a bit of both, but all that matters is that you love it and will use it. ^_^

Well, I thought about the tassels and slanted zippers, both of which made me wonder about the timelessness of the bag, but it seems the tassel thing is still going strong, so I'm okay in that respect.

The leather is SO nice though. It's thicker, but so incredibly supple and soft that the bag is nice and flexible, but still gives me a sense of durability. Over all, I’m very pleased and don’t regret the purchase :D.

^^I think the tassles are the best part. :D Glad you like it. I actually looked for one online, but dont know where to go. SF didnt have it.

Thanks Kylie :flower:! The tassels have actually turned out to be nice to have on the bag. They are strong and really make zipping and unzipping much easier. Plus, even though sometimes I may doubt the timelessness of the tassels, I have always been a sucker for them - even when I was a kid :p.

If you want one, you can order it from the Neiman Marcus web site at: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/c...cat7860735&masterId=cat7370753&index=0&cmCat=

Yay! :flower:

wow it totally does not look like ferragamo... i'm hesitant about the zippers, but the overall shape, it's not bad for a casual bag...

That's the SAME thing I thought ^_^!

To be honest, I LOVE the two zippered pockets on the front. I keep my cell in the top and my keys in the bottom so I don't have to rummage around every time I need them and the zippers keep it all safe and sound :D. The leather is substantial enough that the keys don't even bulge or poke through, so there's no indention at all.

Thanks! Your pics of the bag are so much better. I can never figure out why NM & Saks use the pics that they use and why they dont offer more views.

My pleasure! Yes, the picture on the NM site really doesn't show off the slouchy flexibility of the leather or even the real look of the bag when you carry it. It's so stuffed with paper that you don't get a good idea... More views would be a very good idea!
