miss universe panel of judges.

i know that this red lipstick trend has been around for quite some time, but after i recently watched the miss universe pageant, and seen the two stunning model judges' makeup, i can't help but give it a try!!!

what do you guys think about it?

my boyfriend and brother both hate it on girls, but i find it really attractive!!

red lips have always been a classic look.
red lips with porcelain skin. no blush. white shadow & winged black liquid liner.

yes!
i love red lips

You have to make sure the shade is exactly right, the wrong shade can look horrible while the next color in line may look really good, my bf who knows nothing about makeup, could even tell how different I looked with two SLIGHTLY different shades. I cant tell you what will work for you, you just have to try, but for me a red with a little blue in it looks good, whereas my friend looks best wearing red with a slight hint of orange.

I've been going for it lately & love it. Must be really bright, and not during a breakout! :P

red lips are fab. but your skin must be clear and glowing for best results!
i cant rave enough about UD redlight i own over 15 red lipsticks.....this is my fave.

My skin is too white to use red lipstick or didn't find the right shade. :(

maybe a softer/ sheer or yellow based red wouldnt wash your complexion out.

maybe something like this?

it all depends on her undertone.
honestly, i'd have to say that she's safer going with a blue-based red like revlon's 'revlon red' (which is one of the greatest red lipsticks ever!) or perhaps dior's roulette red...or dior's firey red.

dior's 'firey red':

a tad more orange based, but still a gooorgeous classic 1950's red with a satin finish.

Thank you!

I would love to wear red lipstick, but for some reason I look like a two year-old playing with her mother's make-up when I have it on
Does anyone have any tips that can help me pull off the look of red lipstick? (i.e. using lipliners, different eyeshadows, ect.)
Thanks! :flower:

red lips are bold. NEVER try & wear color on your eyes aswell.
it's RED lips / dramatic eyes.
so go for either nude shadows
or a classic look . . with white shadow & black liquid liner & lotsa mascara.
i think you hafta be careful w/blush & red lipstick.
heavy blush & red lipstick can make you look like a doll.
so try & stick to no blush if you can. a sorta porcelain look // or //
a very sheer wash of color.
i recommend MAC sheertone blushes.
they have fab texture & the color is easy to build up.
always use lipliner w/lipstick to stop the color from bleeding & smudging too much.
try coloring in your lips with nude lipliner & then adding a lipstick on top.
that way you can play arounf w/lotsa different shades.
experiment! :buzz:

hope that helps
:flower:

Ah, thats what it was! White eyeshadow and black eyeliner! That sounds about perfect :P
I have peaches 'n cream skin so blush isn't really a problem for me, but the tip about the nude lipliner is something I need to do.
Thanks for the great advice!
