I like Freida but feel she is pretty and boring. It's quite amazing when such a great director like Woody Allen wants you in his film so I can't wait to see how she does. Match Point was not great but is was not bad either.

I can't say much about her acting skills since she only had what 10 lines in SM. Fox Searchlight and others marketed her really well. I basically watch her for how she's styled. Oh, and because she's Indian too

Yeah, there's a big difference between "boring" and just "not controversial". I do think this Woody Allen project will be a decent chance for her to prove herself as an actress. She certainly hasn't made any missteps so far, but that doesn't make her boring.

Not sure if it's common. From what I know, most people in India have names based on their religion or religious ancestry. Freida's catholic so she has a Christian name.

Freida Pinto is moving from strength to strength. The Slumdog Millionaire [Images] actress has signed on writer-director Julian Schnabel's (of Oscar-nominated French film, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly fame) new film, Miral.
Freida arrived in Israel last week for the film's shoot.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the actress arrived a month early to prepare for her role in Miral, a joint French-Israeli production.
Set in Jerusalem, the movie is about Hind Husseini's effort to set up an orphanage in the city following the creation of the state in 1948. The shoot will begin in April and will be released next year.
