She is the most gorgeous girl in Hollywood! Love her style in the red carpet.

I thought she was chilean when i first saw her

really?:woot:

why?

I mean I'm chilean and I would really want to know why you think Freida looks like chilean...^_^

Her last name is spanish or portuguese I'm not sure... .. i just dont know if she has latin relatives or something...

There are a fair number of Indians who have Portugues, Spanish, even English last names, but that is because they converted to Catholicism or Christianity. It doesn't necessarily mean they have any European blood (though I guess some might), they're still ethnically Indian. :flower:

^ yup you're right...you'll find alot of Christians in India with Spanish/Portugese names because of the Portugese influence in India. The Portugese colony in Goa/west coast had converted alot of the Indians to Christianity. I actually find that the christians in India despite being darker in colour have sort of-ish European features. This again is probably due to the Portugese Colony!

About the chilean thing..haha i dunno she just sort of looked like one before i found out that the girl is an indian ;)

What do you mean by European features Marya?

Not to be a bit corny here but India is really diverse. Just in my family, there are some who have blond hair and light eyes while others fit the more "typical" Indian mold. It's not always easy to distinguish someone from being Hispanic, Iberian, or of Indian descent and I think her name lets people make the wrong assumptions. All that aside, her features are very Indian.

Exactly.

european as in portugese! Im talking generally here btw. I dont think her features are reminiscent of an Indian woman at all. An example of a classic indian face would be rekha or even aishwarya rai!

youre right..India is a massive country but I am was talking specifically about the christians and the portugese colony (hence where the christian indian's originated from). The indians in the south look totally different to the indians in the north etc etc im making a general statement here, before i get myself into trouble :ninja:

You're not gonna get in trouble, it's just a friendly discussion. There are a larger number of catholics/christians in India who have no european blood. They simply changed their names when they converted, so it's not necessarily accurate to assume that an Indian with a Portuguese, Spanish, or English surname has any of that in their ethnic background. And the portuguese colony is not the only place where christian indians are or originated from. Those missionaries were all over the country converting Indians into what are jokingly called "rice christians'.

oh my bad then :) i had read that goa is where the portugese had had the most influence. Hence the higher volume of christians and even the cuisine is heavily influenced by the portugese, and the name of goa has been derived by the portugese and er even the churches/buildings..alright back to Freida now :)

No, no, you're absolutely right in that :flower:. But they're also elsewhere. Frieda is from Bombay, Maharashtra I believe.

You are absolutely right. Indians are a very diverse looking group of people. Some look more "European," Some look Latin, Some look Black.

I do think Freida has actual Portugese ancestry far back, although I still think she's mostly Indian. Remember Portugal did colonize some parts of India.

But, back on topic. When are we gonna see some more red carpet Freida pics? I loooooooooooooooove her red carpet style and I'm eager to see some more!

Frieda Pinto looks more like a young halle berry than a Eva Longoria. Honestly these magazines anger me.

She is definitely one of the most beautiful women I have seen in a very long time. Indians are diverse :)

I think she really does look like Eva, it's all in the eyes.

It's funny you say that about Halle, b/c I said the same thing on here somewhere in this thread. I even posted pics.
