Bottega Veneta F/W 2012 - Milan (O).

Credit to Vogue Italia and Style Bistro.

She's had Vogue China and Vogue Germany cover (not the blue chip Vogues but still more than some models from her time have. Plus she is a regular in Vogue US and has been featured in Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris etc... she's certainly not a stranger to Vogue, but that's kind of off topic

One of the times she skipped Milan was due to personal reasons, I'm not 100% sure what the second time was in regards to the 'big opportunity', things don't always work out as planned. Who knows. Plus this time she seemed very intent on Milan if her twitter was anything to go by, and actually seemed really excited about it, and disappointed that she was going to miss it. She has done very well in Milan in the past, some people in this thread believe it is her best city...

Sure I may be bias, but I just trust that she's making the right decision.

The person is asking what the big opportunities for Frida were , as in , what were the VOGUE covers or prestigious campaigns she shot , that forced her to skip Milan previously

Right, I gathered that after a while. Sorry I started listing off her vogue creds, but that users point was a little unclear with the 'ive never seen her on a vogue cover' statement. But you'll see that I said that one of the times she skipped was due to personal reasons so wasn't even work related, and I also said that I wasn't sure what the 'big opportunity' was for the other time, sometimes things don't go according to plan and fall through. That's not to say there wasn't an opportunity to begin with though. Who are we to make assumptions like that.

To say she isn't popular with Milan designers is the real reason for skipping (as that user was implying) doesn't make a lot of sense. She's done Prada, just cavalli, sport max, etro campaigns so I fail to see the point of that argument.

Anyway, yay for frida opening bv!

I like to share this edit, hope you like.

She should be doing as many shows as possible. This is her prime, and focus a lot in Paris and in Milan, look at Natasha, Raquel, Isabeli, Lily D., Daria W. when they first started they did A LOT OF SHOWS, even after they were "established", Frida needs to watch and learn.

Maybe so, but I think all frida needs to do is follow the very specific plan that her agency has for her, as outlined in her most recent interview. It also talks about the amount of money she earns so it must be working. I think they know what they are doing moreso than you or I as outsiders. They seem to have a very direct path for her, and she has also mentioned modelling is not a forever thing and she wants to focus on architecture in the future.

Wow.. That was certainly unexpected from Ms. Frida.. A Bottega exclusive.. Would be amazing for to get this campaign in the upcoming season.. I could definately see her with this collection..

I feel like Frida doesn't get much of a chance to get a different look in many of her editorials.. Like she only gets hired for "one look".. I would love to see a more versatile portfolio for this girl.. I feel like she could really do the edgy look some justice if the chance was presented to her.. Like she only gets the "old style" or the "princess/little girls" edits..

But then again I feel like I'm asking too much from her carreer..

That's 'cos she almost only shoots editorials for Vogue US... like the million editorials Caroline T was in for Vogue...not much variety.
