Frye Boots

ugh frye boots. I'm so tired of seeing people wear them here. They are way too overpriced for what they are. A girl in one of my lecture classes spend $300 on them, and I couldn't believe it. I wouldn't even give 50 for them

My Frye Engineers are about to go through their third winter. They're definitely not overpriced. Even though I got them for half price, I'd have no problem getting my next pair at full price considering how well they've held up.

this might sound stupid but does the leather get wrinkly with wear? i like smooth leather and not the "rugged" look.

also regarding to the price, i would say they are worth it. people say they last long (3 winters is long) so cost per wear is reasonable. theyre also made in the US so the quality is more superb than say china.

i think you are just tired of seeing them on everyone. its like death by association and when everyone has them they loose their "cool" quality.

I bought my first pair of Frye's a couple of days ago...the Chelsea boot in black leather. I wore them for the first time yesterday and they were so comfortable...no rubbing, no blisters, and the cushioned sole was fantastic.

Sorry for the gush but I'm so happy to have a pair of really comfortable boots...

glad to hear the chelsea boots fit well! I've been contemplating them!

And emailme. I think it depends on the boot whether or not the leather 'wrinkles' or slouches. I have the engineer's and the leather is pretty thick and sturdy so I haven't really experienced that

I'm having a really hard time breaking in my Frye Harness 8Rs... anyone have any tips?? I can't even wear them! The heel part hurts really bad... maybe I am a weakling, but I feel like I can't wear them cause they're too heavy for my feet.. haha

My engineers are quite heavy as well. To be honest, I've had my engineers about a year and worn them intermittantly, sometimes with huge socks, sometimes without, and they are still not broken in yet. If I wear thick socks, it's really hard to squeeze my foot in through the ankle opening (hope this makes sense!). If they are squeezing your heel quite hard, it may be a fit issue. However, the leather on mine engineers (similar to the harness) is just so thick and stiff, it takes time to wear them in. Maybe take them to a cobbler and see if they recommend anything?

Hello all.... anyone have the Jane boot? I sized down a full size for both of my harness 14 boots however have heard this style is TTS... anyone have them? Sizing? Modeling pics?

^^ I like the look of Fryes but wonder if I'd ever have the patience to break them in.

I don't have any myself, but maybe one day...

i was at DSW a few months ago and they had this one pair of frye boots in the clearance section. there was only one pair left in the whole store and i didnt snag them in time :(. i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the style of them? i cant remember. they were a tan leather(felt kind of like a thin suede), kind of worn out and vintage, about a 3" stacked wood heel, rounded toe, and went up just under the knees. they had a very bohemian hippie look to them and i cant find them anywhere online. anyone know which ones im talking about?

^and they arent on the frye website, i think they were from a season ago maybe.

I bought the Frye Jane Boots from endless.com using bing cashback, 30%!... Love them! Took them TTS... these are the Dark Brown version...

Hey everyone, i just scored some Brand New Frye Engineer Gaucho brown boots!!!! I cant wait to get them in the mail, i've always loved these boots but never gotten a chance to get em until now. Woohoo!! I wonder which will i wear more, these or my Docs. ^_^

^ congrats on your engineer gauchos! you should wear them more than the docs to break them in! :D

seahorseinstripe - i saw them from amazon late last year but only in the veronica shortie, not the tall in the green. might be last year's or even earlier old stock so you probably won't be able to find it anymore :( best bet is on ebay maybe after summer :flower:

i absolutely love frye boots. have them in maxine, veronica, austin, carmen, harness 12R, sunny (3 prs!) and always still on the lookout for more. the best deal was from overstock - got them for only $49!!! next best place would be ebay

^^Thank you!! ^_^, yeah i'll wear them everyday lol. And to top off an exciting find yesterday with those gauchos, i lucked up and found ANOTHER awesome deal on some Frye Custer Harness Strap boots. this must be the best week of my life lol

brought a pair of classic harness boots 2 year ago, not frye though
found out about the frye company tonight, it must be my favorite shoe company now. so many shoes in exactly how i want them.

Anyone have the Melissa button flat boots? I can't decide between black or dark brown....... help!
