Frye Boots

I like the harness boots, I want to get them, but theres the little voice in the back of my head telling me I wont wear them more than twice. I preffer my Miss Capzio boots :)

im getting my campus boots today.

and since my sister works at kitson which sells them, im getting her employee discount, so they are only going to be like $115

I loooove Frye boots. I first saw model named Emily wear them like 4 years ago. I was so jealous of how well she pulled them off..now I'm going to buy a pair. ;)

I really like the look of the belted harness boots (though I can't tell the difference between the belted and just the regular harness boot) in brown because they look SO beat up but when I look at the black version they look too clean and the toe looks a bit stodgy instead of rounded. hmm. I really want a bair of a sort of tough flat almost motorcycle boots to wear with dresses but I can't find any....in person, are the black beat up at all?

I recently bought my boyfriend some vintage Frye's for $20 at a consignment store- I was so excited, they're in great condition! Does anyone know how to tell exactly how old they are? Is there a special marking I can be looking for?

Thanks :)

i'd like to save up & get me a pair of them. so many options (from gaudy to classy), so pricey but so good, you know they'll last a long time.

I got a pair of lace-up campus on sale in Off-Fifth couple month ago...
Love them to pieces - they look absolutely beautiful, and soooo comfortable...
I got so many compliments wearing them...
The lace-ups make them more versatile IMO, I can wear them with skits or tacked-in jeans...
Color and texture is awesome, too...
I never thought I would buy a pair just looking at website - but they are sooo much better in person....

I keep wondering if I should give in and purchase a pair. I keep coming back to them as being a style that I like. I wonder though if they are 'too tough' for the office? The black ones aren't beat up enough for my liking but I figure I could always do that myself. And they were on sale at Selfridges. Don't think they still are though.

softgrey- what style of frye boots do you have??
campus...
sort of a reddish brown...i'd call it congnac...
darker than what i see most people with...
but i think they look better distressed because of that...

:flower:

Softgrey please post a picture of your boots?I'm sure you've made thme look civilised now...other than that....

....I think that these are even uglier than my Ann Demeulemeester combat boots, and that's saying a lot:lol:

here they are...
but i don't want to hear how ugly everyone thinks they are or i'm taking down the pics...

the leather is now so soft that they are completely floppy...^_^...

Softgrey those are very cute...the shorter length suits them better, and the leather looks dreamy!! I could totally work those...and so can you.:flower:Very brave, you were!

Unfortunately,I don't think being put in the wash can save my Ann Dems . The softness isn't the problem:cry: .

yes they do look fantastic! I thought you cut off the tops of them though? They don't look cut off? Do they slouch around the calvewhen you wear them?

thanks to everyone who liked my customisation...:flower:...

meg-they are cut off...several inches...
that's why you can see the liner...
normally that would be stitched to the outer layer...
and folded over...

they slouch a bit...kind of like the last pic...
basically they look like i've had them for years...
and i've only worn them twice...^_^...

and i agree quirky..the shorter length is much more flattering for my height and my legs......

:)
