Frye Boots

i have some Frye campus boots like the ones Rachel Bilson wears. They are the dark distressed brown color! SO SO CUTE with jeans and skirts so damn cute
i paid 300 for them new

been seeing lots of people wearing some campus' with theier jns tucked in lately...
and i really like this look...maybe my favourite way to wear them...
i am going to try this with my customised ones and see if it works...

:p

I just bought a pair of Frye chestnut harness boots from Boot Barn. They are absolutely adorable! At first, I couldn't decide on the lighter brown distressed ones, black, or chestnut, but chose the chestnut ones because I have so many black shoes and boots. I almost bought the black ones, but they'd look like my hubby's Harley Davidson boots (and we'd look like twins). The chestnut brown looks very earthy... I love them! I plan to wear them with miniskirts :)

Biased- but true

I like Frye boots okay, but I prefer boots by Jim Barnier. I could be biased because I work for him, but I think his boots are like Frye's but so much better. Like everyone kept wishing for- his boots come pre-distressed looking and are made of the buttery-softest leather I have ever felt! They are also a little more dainty while still retaining that rugged look. You can check out his kick-bum boots at www.freepeople.com

His boots are really cute :) That site has several Frye boots as well. :) I noticed that they are not as tall as in previous seasons. Is this a trend, wearing the shorter boot?

i think the thing i really like about frye boots is that they are very durable, yet still manage to look elegant. and whereas with other boots i have to worry about messing them up, fryes just look even better worn in and used.

Eh .. don't really like any of them. But if you like one of them, then buy them (;

thanks katattack--those boots are exactly what ive been looking for. i like the frye engineer ones but the buckles aren't doing it for me. the ones by Jim Barnier are perfect! :flower:

I know this thread is a bit old, but zappos.com is having a sale on the Frye Dorado Slouch boots. I just bought the pair in dark brown for around $180! The sale ends this Friday I believe.

Can anyone give me advice on how to clean, remove stains and care for Frye's in lighter colors?

I have a beautiful pair of burgundy Frye boots that I love. Problem is, I'm having trouble walking in them because the stacked heel is a little high for me at 2 1/2 inches (I'm a whimp). Does anyone know if a shoe repair place can shorten the heel for me fairly easily? It's a heavy wooden heel and I would want about an inch shaved off. Thanks!

Just snagged a pair of the Frye Veronica slouches for $129.99 at bloomingdales.com! I've been watching that page like a hawk!

Yesterday I got a pair of the Engineer 8R in caramel at Macy's for $94! Thhe color is similar to Chloe whiskey, and it will only get more beautiful once they get worn in!!

Next on the list: black engineer 8R or 12R...I can't get enough of this style! I love wearing them with dainty dresses and skirts...

Congrats on your purchases miaou! =]

I actually just received my harness 8Rs in the mail in the gaucho color. However, I'm also having the same problem spinster is having, having difficulty with walking in them, except I'm a 6"3 guy, but maybe I just have difficulty walking in boots in general. I'm honestly considering getting an inch from the heel shaved off because in addition to my problem walking in them, I don't need the extra height.^_^

Can't wait to break 'em in!

I like a lot of the Frye Boots, particularly cowboy boots. Although on the link posted on the first page... I don't LOVE any of them.

those are newer versions of the classics. give me the plain old classics anyday

I have the Veronica Slouch, and they're fantastic and so comfortable, I love them. I first fell in love with Frye after seeing the 8" Engineer boots (which I still need to get!), but yesterday bought Veronice Lace Inside Zip boots in Chestnut. Can't wait until they get here! They had them in black too, which seemed too stompy and biker, but this colour is beautiful. I'm going to wear them with skinnies and a thick sock just poking out, or maybe a dress. They'll be lovely and warm for winter, and are going to look better and better as they wear.
