Frye Boots

What do you wear your Frye boots with? Could you wear them with a long black skirt? I really love the harness ones & also the veronica lace ups.

Looking back I like the engineer ones too. I think a little more then the harness. I actually like alot of them. I just cant get the really tall ones because Im pretty short. I think these would be nice under long skirts in the winter. I think Ill add it to my list for fall items to buy. Summers just started now though lol.

I just uncharacteristicaly bought these Veronica's but am blank as to how to style them beyond skinny jeans and sweaters. Any thoughts?

I bought the Harness boot last fall and I LOVE them. They were perfect for winter, I could walk through puddles or a foot of snow and my feet would stay dry. Super practical, not to mention everyone comments on how much they like them!

^ same here... i have the engineer boots in 'greasy black' and i wore them one night with a dress. my sister and i were walking in freezing rain, through puddles, and she had on little ballet flats. my feet stayed warm and dry and i was shocked the next day when i saw that the leather had been completely unaffected. really durable!
i'm looking forward to wearing these this fall/winter :

I need some help deciding which color to get these boots in:

The brown ones are much more beautiful, it's a really rich cognac shade that I just find stunning. However, the last thing I need are brown boots, whereas I really need black boots, I don't have any heeled black boots.

My wardrobe is mainly blacks, greys, taupes, some creams, and I pretty much only wear jeans so these aren't boots to be seen with skirts and dresses and tights or anything like that. I do like the look of black clothes and brown shoes/boots, so that's not the issue, it's just that I have two other brown boot options.

Should I go ahead and get the black since that's what I really need? Or are the browns that much superior that I have to get them? I think the blacks would be great, and I geniunely want to start wearing more black shoes since I don't really, but I'm worried that I'm talking myself into them whereas the browns are what my heart pines for.

Such drama over shoes, opinions appreciated!

Cute, cute! If the browns are what your heart pines for get those. I have found that talking myself into what I "should" get means I rarely wear it probably b/c it wasn't what I really wanted. I never seem to be able to get away from the vague dissatisfaction factor. Bear in mind that I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth since I am notorious for buying multiples of the same item :) :)

yeah, this is exactly my conflict. I'm sort of leaning toward the black though, I think I would be mad at myself for spending nearly $300 on another pair of brown boots cause then I'd have to find a black pair anyhow and spend more.

I'll go try them on again and sit their indecisive in the store. ^_^

Gulp, I'm the opposite....I always buy a half size down in Fryes. I have about five pairs I think?

Mundodabolsa, those booties are HOT!!!!! :woot:

I'd go for the black ones...they are totally chic...I can see them with opaque tights/leggings and a cute mini-dress or oversized sweater.

yeah I've decided to go with the black, I can't wait to get them and wear them, they seemed quite comfy actually when I tried them on.

I just bought some Frye's... the Classic Harness boots in brown:

I know they get a lot of slack for being rugged, but that must be what I love about them! All of my favorite shoes are platformy and durable, as opposed to dainty flats or stilletos!

Also I've lived in both city and more urban areas and some of my style comes from living with horses in the back yard, so not completely inauthentic I guess. :flower:

I need to come up with more outfit ideas with these though. So far slim-fitting jeans look really nice. They look a bit bulky with widelegs.

i want the vintage sunny boots...is there anything i should know about them? do they have a generous circumference..cause i want to stuff my jeans in them...

thanks!
