It sucked. Villency stuff is very hit or miss, most of it is too UES for me, but they do have great pieces. They have Roche Bobois furniture in their Madison Ave store, now that is really awesome. I really recommend you browsing www.craigslist.org. There is a 1 year old Ligne Roset Sofa for $1200 (originally $3000) waiting for a good home right now ;)

That is very elegant, indeed!

To share the lighting fixture joy:

The delightfully Art-Deco light globe in the breakfast nook.

I don't have any theme with any of my furniture outside of all of it being old. I don't have anything purchased new! My newest thing is I guess maybe the sofa, which dates to around 1979, and I don't have it for its aesthetic considerations, as it is hideous. It just so happens to have been free and very comfortable!

I want to get one of the plainer French Provencial-style lounge suites from the 1940s of 1950s and upholser it and make a matching slipcover for the extant sofa.

Here is the dining table:

And here is the bedroom, plus Griswald (when he was little)

Thanks, it's sadly been sitting inside the box this whole time. Until now.

Softie: thank you! You would be very welcome for a visit if you ever come to Kansas City!

Griswald and Sugar provide one of the top fashion accessories for the household: piles and clouds of cast-off cat fur!

I still live at home being only 16! But my mom is in the middle of decorating our living room it's very pretty! We have a big Bernhart sectional in a chenille fabric and a black kawaii baby grand.. And we a have a lazy-boy chair that's going to be replaced soon! But most the living room is taken up by the Huge bookshelf on one wall it's from floor to ceiling and there's a fireplace in the middle! I love our living room!

i need a luggage/caramel coloured leather couch that is neither too modern/minimalist nor too traditional/boring...long and comfortable... something that would look good in a den or library or study or office....that kind of look...

not too much of a statement...but nice and neutral...i prefer some sort of shiny leather...any suggestions?..

DWR has a couch called Portola. It's streamlined but not "too modern", in my opinion. Comfy looking, understated. Comes is various leather colors, including camel and 2 additional shades of brown.

I will be contributing to this soon
Anyone read Nest magazine?

this is my bed.. It's a whole bedseat actually with a long short dresser and a tall dresser. My grandma gave it to me and I love it!!! Eww don't look at my bedding it's a mishmash of different things (bedspread from old decor and the sheets are ugly with it even though they're 400 thread count! which is why I have them)
