Gael García Bernal

What's that in metres??

Bajito o no, sigue siendo el + lindo.

I could not agree more...he does look amazing as a woman...good lawd:shock:

They said he looked a lot like his mother and Sara Montiel, she's now a crazy old woman but she was such a stunner, very mediterranean looking.

that's an awful translation of amores perros...'life's a b*tch' , that's probably the brief thought the translator had when watching the film.

I think Amores Perros is very difficult to translate, you speak spanish? Well if you don't it's going to be kind of hard to understand it. It's an idiom, I don't know why but in spanish being treated badly, harshly or in a very cruel way is related to dogs like estoy peor que un perro, eso no se le hace ni a un perro, un humor de perros, tirado como un perro etc etc etc. Plus every story has something to do with dogs and each dog is the portrait of it's owner and their relatioship.

Plus, that's wrong the origianl title isn't "Life's a b*tch" , it's "Love's a b*tch". It's not an error of translation, is that bad english magazine which couldn't even get the title right.

I love when he says " We've all done it, confusing love with a need not to be lonely"

i love that quote.
Hmm..I speak spanish as a first language. and certainly use perro as an adjective from time to time.
what bugs me, however, is the b*tch word, because a) it's not quite as rampant as the meaning of perro. and b) it somehow seems more fitted for a movie that wants to appeal to a younger audience, and that would be my complain.
..but i guess it's pretty normal when it comes to make a dignified [$] cross over, Amores Perros is just one movie in a million films that went down the painful path of a sh***y translation. :p

not that im suggestion canine love by any means, i actually dont have any suggestions. :innocent:

5'6 is 1.67 cm from what i understand. btw.

Yes and sometimes the Spanish translation of english films is much better, funny, intelligent or quirky than its own name.

I've read someone that he speaks Italian and French really well......anyone have any press conferences with him speaking french/italian?

Jason Bourne to, perhaps, go up against Bernal?!?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. This is bizarre. The trades went the internet route today and totally announced a rumor. They sometimes announce things in the works, but this is the first time I've seen where they announce an actor in a big series before any negotiations have begun, without crediting some quote from the director or something.
It took me a while to get to the BOURNE movies, but when I did I really dug 'em, catching the first one on DVD and the sequel in theaters. The idea of pitting Gael Garcia Bernal against Matt Damon has me smiling a big smile. I have no idea what the story is for THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, but I love the total against-type casting of Bernal as the main villain. Bernal's one of the best young actors around right now and we know he can play vulnerable like no one (SCIENCE OF SLEEP anyone?), but I can't wait for him to go full blown villain in a big action series. Hope this pans out. Could be great!!!
