he looks like a writer.
I was reading an interview with him recently, he appeared [alongside diego luna] on the cover of Proceso [latin american's answer for The Economist].. the interview is so long.. even tedious at some points given the nature of the magazine and the fact that they both seem to have a rather oversimplistic view on politics
but the rest..when they focus on the importance of what they do, such as Canana [their production company], Ambulante [their project on independent documentaries] and Dictator's Cut [a compilation of documentaries picked by them and formerly censured by the government in their respective countries, This film is not yet rated being one of them
].. they come off as brilliantly vocal.. Gael also talked about his appearance in Berlin's International Film Festival:
How do you film about being part of the jury in Berlin?
-good, with expectations about how it's going to turn out. I've never done that before.
What made you accept being a jury at the event?
- The fact that there's been a number of invitations before and I turned them down because I was either working or promoting a film. I'm not working at the moment so I want to live the experience.
..of judging?
-More like of watching cinema. I'm excited, it's almost like my dream.. going to a festival and being able to see movies, because whenever I attend them, I'm doing interviews the whole time. it's impossible.
