I thought this time round GP was coming back to give us real clothes (ie: not costumes)
Much better than I expected, of course Nick Knight's photography helps but I really was missing some strong statement among so many commercial shows. It makes quite the impression and I love how he named each look.
My favorite look is the Sphynx, the striped coat with portruding hips.
I just don't find this as exhilarating as I think Gareth Pugh would hope one would find it.
It’s typically, predictably dramatic and SHOWStudio fodder— but it also feels so trapped in a specific moment in 2009. When pop culture has already caught up to this brand of gothy looks— maybe he’d be ideal for costume design to a reboot of Silent Hill, or a God Of War trilogy.
Feels like a collection of Photoshop images for a digital retouch contest.
Well, some looks here look really suitable for Shin Megami Tensei or Persona demons!!

Right ! I can still hear The Presets playing on loop in the distance when looking at this. No shade to The Presets.

Sometimes I have expectation for him to take over one of those historical brands, but it has never happened throughout the years and probably will not happen in the future.
