Rimmel Taps Georgia Jagger & Coco Rocha
LONDON — Rimmel London has added rock ’n’ roll progeny and runway royalty to its star-spangled lineup of spokeswomen.
As reported, Georgia May Jagger and Coco Rocha will join the Coty Inc.-owned brand’s roster, which already includes Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The new pair will begin appearing in 2010 advertising.
“We needed a wider palette of faces to show the makeup results of our new products,” said Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president, global marketing, at Coty Beauty, a division of Coty. He added Moss will continue to be a key ambassador for the brand. “Rimmel embodies the London look, which is very resonant with young people all over the world who look to London as a center of multiculturalism and freedom of expression.”
Mormoris said Rocha will bring sensuality to the brand, whereas Jagger was chosen because she is “edgy, experimental and provocative.”
“Rimmel is such a cool brand, the makeup is innovative and you can have a lot of fun with it,” stated Rocha, who was discovered at an Irish dancing competition and is a fixture on runways and in magazines. “I have discovered a love of makeup through my modeling career, and I am really pleased to be working with such a hip brand.”
The daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Jagger’s star is on the rise. She recently fronted a campaign for Hudson Jeans and was featured on the cover of British Vogue.
To further Rimmel’s appeal worldwide, Mormoris said three additional spokesmodels of different ethnic backgrounds will be signed to the brand by January.
