Well a basic drapé, leather, no pockets is 230euros = 273$.
I've been reading this thread for a long time now, and as a proud owner of a black drapé (bought in august), I thought I should share a bit of my knowledge about this bag!
I'd also like to point out that they changed the leather for the new collection, it's not so thick, shiny and textured. The leather is more mat, even. I like the new one better but I feel like can't buy the same bag, in the same color again...or can I?
So if you don't really like the previous leather, or if you are not interested by the new one, you should consider that before buying the bag

Besides E-bay are there stores outside of France and the one mentioned in California that sell these bags (I'm particularly interested in the Gerard Darel Drape bag) ? By any chance anywhere in London or Berlin ?

roey said:Thanks Aurel! Is the new leather as soft? I have the chocolate brown with the textured leather and it is SO soft and buttery that if I were to get a bag in another color it would have to have that same silky softness.
Mettchen said:i only remember two gerard darel shops in paris. there's one on saint germain des pres (just next to cafe de flore) and then there's one on rue royale (close by rue st. honoré). of course you can find the bags in the department stores as printemps as well![]()
Mettchen said:Hanne, i've seen they sell them in a small store in Holte (i suppose you're still located in Copenhagen). I know they carry the off-white, the black and a maroon colored as well (which had pockets though).
Aurel said:Yep, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette (though Galeries Lafayette has a bigger collection of Darel bags than Printemps) are a good idea, it's more convenient than having to find a shop.
But the thing is that they might not have all the different model of bags...
I know there's also a shop place Passy...
(if you go on www.pagesjaunes.fr , search for "gerard darel" in "paris" it will give you all the addresses)
whippet72 said:Witchery always sell rip-offs - they have sold silverados, paddingtons, bulgas and now darels. I wonder why real designers don't do something about it - but i guess we are too far down under for them to bother...
Anyway any GD experts can tell by looking at these 2 pictures if this is the real thing?
Thanks!![]()
