I've seen a few people on TV wearing them and I've also seen people wearing them here. (don't know why since its really hot out)

Anyway, anyone know where I can buy one?

How about this one? from http://west.loadup.com/military/surplus/54164.html

NEW ITEMS : German Mil.-issue Commando Sweater, Olive Drab

"And it has all the bells and whistles that the German troops wear. Shoulder and elbow patches are durable. Velcro® closure epaulets. That's what they use to hold their berets. You can use them to secure your scarf so it doesn't blow off in the blustery winds. May or may not have German flag insignia on each arm."

Or this one....

German Commando Sweater. The famous "German Commando Sweater" made for the German Bundeswehr in Germany. These are all brand new! Available in sizes Small and Medium. Please note that some of the sweaters have a pocket on the left chest but some do not.

celine, if you check out any army surplus store they should have them...

Ahhhh I've seen hunderts people wearing those "Commando Sweaters"...Thay are not bad but fits so much better on slim people.

mmm...I like them too! When I was in Berlin, they were selling them in the market near Alexanderplatz - I should have grabbed one :(

Cool sweater...I agree that they look better on slim types, the picture of the man above wearing it who has broad shoulders looks like it's not a very flattering shape and like any old jumper. I imagine these would go quite well with some orange overdye jeans and a pair of original german military sneakers to match! :woot:

Celine, there's an army surplus store on blv St laurent, and they probably carry those..... Just get off the St Laurent Subway, turn right when you get out and it's on the left side of the street...... About a block or so from the metro.

I haven't seen anyone wear them here though.....

The British has also got commando sweaters that are very similar-almost alike, really. And yes indeed, they are very cool. I think the most popular militaria piece of the German army are those heavy cotton, buttoned combat shirt's with the flags and epaulets. I love German military uniforms though. They are the best,if you ask me...in terms of style.
