Gianfranco Ferré S/S 06 Milan

Alway loved him for the details and "architectural" designs. Very strong coll. indeed

Beautiful! Another favourite collection... I especially love the colours.

its the second season that Ferre comes up with a real strong cllection.. the Italian master seems to have woken up from his deep sleep

off topic:
i so much prefered his work at Dior before Galliano took over from him, it was a shame to let Ferre go..

A GIANT HAS BEEN AWAKEN.
TELL ALL THE PRETENTERS, THE GREATEST ITALIAN DESIGNER EVER IS BAAAACCCCCKKKKK (and this includes the late gianni versace, giorgio armani, and the d&g duo) this man is head and shoulders above everybody in italy, Prada included.
he had become sort of quiet lately but he seems to be building steam. No one in fashion (maybe richard tyler excluded) can cut a suit for women like he can. ferre has taken the most basic of garments, the white dress shirt, and made it opulent and rich, by adding textures and victorian details.

my all time favorite designers are:
(1) azzedine alaia (the only living couturier that can rival cristobal balenciaga)
(2)cristobal balenciaga (the greatest and most skilled designer ever .he was very innovative too, he invented silk gazaar)
(3)richard Tyler (i was upset when barneys stopped carryig his collection as would go thier every season to study the construction on his jackets)
(4)Gianfranco Ferre ( the only designer with the ability to make women powerful and feminine/fragle at the same time, Gaultier comes close but sometimes he veers into vulgarity, even though i still love him)

HAIL THE ITALIAN MASTER, FERRE THE GREAT:D :D :D

I LOVE Ferre, he is one of the best constantly. He never gets enough press, IMO, but he isnt a media wh*re like Lagerfeld and Galliano.

Wow. He took grip on everything. The colours, details, prints, volume, etc. The best thing I think about this collection is that he keeps up with the trends for those elements I mentioned (and others that I didn't), kinda disbeyed it at the same time. And it worked! :woot:

gorgeous collection I like that he put the puffy things on the arms instead of the skirts... it's good that he didn't just do what everyone else is doing right now (but I still think it's veeery nice with the puffy things on skirts)

More ... from voguevanity.it

There's a huge amount of all-white in this extensive collection ...

this is the kind of clothing i remember sweeping me away when i first started the look at fashion for real.

edit: maybe he's living in an altered universe for the rest of the flock?

I still love this a lot, but I have to say that I was happy to see seem colour after more than 35 pics of all white looks :ninja:

I agree ;) All white is gorgeous, but it's not good with my skin, and I also can't imagine spending this kinda money on all white (disaster waiting to happen)

Travolta, I agree ... this collection reminds me of the 80s, in a good way :p I probably still have somewhere a Ferre look book my aunt gave me in the 80s ... I still remember the beautiful blues and browns. It was F/W though, so I can't really compare the two ...
