I like the chunky knits, but not much else to be honest, giles success in my opinion is down to the fact that Katy Grand is his stylist and gets him all the press he could wish for
Everyone agrees on the knits which are truly spectacular. Too bad he didn't pair it with something more cohesive. It's as if he decided to change direction half way through the season. Not well thought out i'm afraid.
The headgear and shoes would be best left behind since it just overpowered everything else and in a BAD way.
I don't get the impression he does decent daywear and the evening is generally unwearable by any standards.
Great illustrator though, I'm sure the drawings of these looked fantastic.
Excess gone wrong.
Well it's undeniable that there isn't a very coherent link between a lot of the pieces but there are many things which I like on their own merits. I actually don't like the chunky knits at all, they are so bulky and unflattering but many of the dresses are lovely.
At first I thought "Oh another Galliano wannabe" but this guy is pretty impressive. The black n white dress is so cool, the brown one is a masterpiece and the last black dress is very original. The cool thing is 90% of this stuff is wearable. The shoes piss me off though and so do the headpieces or whatever they are.
im breathless
there is so much ugliness
and so much awesomeness (sorry) seeing these giant knits made me think of monster insects! and wish it was cold and snowy again!
i like the leather dress at the start of this thread but i think most of it is pretty bad.....he is trying to set himself up as the next galliano/mcqueen......
he has a really big thing about lurid coloured satin clothes......
i just don't understandwhat he is trying to say/do.....these clothes are all over the place
