Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Paris

Just rewatched it and now I've been more convinced. As his no1 stan, I expected more since the buzz and hype around the last couture show was sth. But well, feel free to do sh*ts you want since most people won't dare to trash it anyway.

Armani c’est la tradition. And it’s funny because he only started doing Couture 20 years ago.
Part of the charm of the whole thing is that it is slightly dated. But what I’m mesmerized by each time is the quality of the fabrics. I love how sequins and rhinestones just enriched already luscious fabrics..

IMO, Armani should only be black, grey and champagne so I hate everytime he is doing colors. Nevertheless, very charming and I hope he will be back at least for a last bow.

And the quality of the fabrics is so difficult to translate for a digital audience, which makes it seem like the ultimate luxury - it's not just a spectacle to watch but something to experience, and if all you're doing is seeing it on a tiny screen, you're missing out on the greater part of things.

Haha yes, totally, his cold palette will always be his strongest suit. Graphite, ash grey, champagne, matte black, dull gold etc… they just breathe sophistication. I always think of his connection to Tadao Ando — same kind of architectural silence, no excess.

But it’s funny how he also admires people like Matisse and Issey Miyake — both known for how they use color in emotional, abstract ways. So even if color isn’t Armani’s “safe zone”, you can tell he’s drawn to the idea of color as something poetic. Still, I agree that whenever he strays too far from his signature tones, it just feels... off and even hideous LOL.

I just watched the whole video and it was amazing the tailoring the corset work the way he makes the fabric looks like liquid. But most importantly the restraint. No silliness, But also being able to play just a little bit not too much. He will go down in history as one of the greatest countries and probably the last one. Even if he only started 20 years ago.
The sad thing about watching this was realizing that couture would never fully rebound to the way that it did in the 80s and the 90s the early nineties when you have different houses really trying to dress customers for private events now everything is a show, all of your events are on Instagram.

^^^I’ve always admired Armani for designing for people, not to impress, but to understand. It feels like he steps into different worldviews, into different lives, to quietly observe and then shape beauty from within. Even his couture feels grounded, never imposing. I honestly don’t care whether history will name him one of the greatest couturiers — he never came from that lineage anw, and he never tried to be part of that system, that man dgaf. He’s simply himself, making clothes that are deeply, unmistakably Armani-ish. If you know, you know; once you fall for it, there’s no turning back ;).

I sweater God, if I see that cheesey theater-queen from Broadway in this...

I always appreciate how there's always just the right amount of pizzass in the surface decorations of his designs. Yeah, there's a considerable amount of handwork involved w/ the beading, sequins, and feathers, but it never screams out "3000 hours to create this." It's a laborious task, but it never looks that way.

And I'm loving the make-up here. The make-up in his couture shows is always designed perfectly to compliment the outfits and the model, so a round of applause goes out to whomever's in charge there. (Imagine if you did Kim or Cardi's make-up like this, and you handed them the mirror and said, "Voila!" They'd probably throw a fit and chop your hands off.)

I love his casting. The way the models in his shows move is just out of this world. So much grace and elegance, no zombie looking teenagers who can barely walk straight.

Oh! Mouna Ayoub!
I also love how people dress up « in an elegant way » for Mr Armani.

Ironically this is refreshing… no gimmicks, no stupidity, not trying to look smart or funny (even worse when the ones trying it have just two brain cells), no pretentious castings, no nothing… just pure class and pure personal style.
