I like the color scheme of the collection. However, the fashions look very bulky for a spring/summer collection. Also, it is great to see models Debra Shaw and Karolina Kurkova walking the show.
The makeup is a no. Some of the colours are a bit noxious and vomit looking to the eyes.
HOWEVER… I don’t hate the shapes and silhouettes. Some are overused, so there could have been some more slim cut/cigarette pants to break it up and to provide some variance. Casting is rather gorgeous which helps with what I see as a slightly confused collection. I do think it’s a nice trajectory though. For Prabal mind you.
I thought it looked a little too current Alaia and Jacquemus take on said Alaia but I prefer his proposition here. There’s actual lightness. I appreciate that. One and a half thumbs up.
I appreciate the intention to push some kind of design and shape in our age of banality. But I find the imprecision of it all really jarring. Also the opening looks in white look beyond cheap. I’m also left wondering, where is this sold? How are they evening finding a budget to produce this? There must be an entire segment of consumers im missing. Is this similar to proenza where the client is 5 people in New York?
