There was a time when Armani’s campaigns conjured up the most luxurious, richest imageries of a certain world: Of refined sophistication, of timeless elegance. Those were the campaigns produced by masters like Aldo Fallai and Herb Rtts.
This looks like any given lookbook from a department-store collection. I get that the PS-overdosing Mert & Marcus likely convinced the Armani brand to go selfie-real cos that’s what the kids like— and more importantly for there ego, people will talk about how versatile they are as photographers. But this totally cheapens the Armani brand more than it does to keep it relevant.
