So crazy Meisel never worked with Vlada, even when doll face models were his type. Also I have seen old Versace shows, and the comments praise her the most as the catwalk queen, but never first or the last. It's a mystery that she never booked those major moments.

Let’s be HONEST about Vlada: she was just a runway filler. I know the nostalgia factor makes us want to see her in a better light, but she never really established herself with the public, she wasn’t in many campaigns, nor on covers… I’m not spreading hate, but that’s what her career was based on, and that’s okay. She had some great runway moments, like that final Lacroix look, but that’s it, end of story!

i think that's the reason Vlada was underrated.. Meisel never liked her... He always loved Sasha, Gemma, Stam, Trentini, even Snejana but not Vlada... i don't know why.. Also the designers used to put Vlada in emphasis on the runway at versace/prada/chanel shows (3 outfits, being the second girl to enter etc) but no campaigns.

Love Vlada, but she probably lacks the aggressive sexiness of a true Versace girl. But I have utmost respect for her for being a tried and true runway girl, even if I admittedly never loved her walk. Those neck muscles were holding on for DEAR LIFE.

Right! That’s exactly what I thought too.
I LOVE Mica! She’s absolutely gorgeous.
But sometimes her hair just gives… air-dried chaos.
Like the fire alarm went off mid-blowdry and she just walked out.

Sharon Ganish or Rianne ten Haken would have been a nice casting surprising. Even Erin Wasson, Liya Kibede or Yasmin Warsame (although she’s more Tom Ford).

Admittedly, I far prefer the backstage shots to the actual campaign images. Kate’s face looks insane in them though…

many girls (Anja, Freja, Natasha) who were not Meisel's fav at first but still being pushed by other photographers (I&V, Testino, Sorrenti) and went on to have a successful career. I tend to think Vlada's just not a great print model

Shot in the dark, but how about Nadja?

Freja became a Meisel favorite for a year, she got 3 VI covers in 2010/11 (one of them a solo story with Mathias) and 4 eds. Anja made Dsquared2 and Moschino ads. Natasha has 1 US Vogue Cover, the VI anniversary one, and some eds as well. Vlada has none!!! Even Tanya worked with Meisel twice. I don't get why he avoided her, like she was Kendall now. I love Meisel, but not working with some girls like Andreea, Edita (just one campaign I must say), Nadja Bender, Katy Nescher, Karme Pedaru... there's a lot never achived that.
