Versace F/W 2025.26 by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Maybe something happened with Naomi and the fashion industry in general. I don't know if all started after she was linked with some of the worst people on earth, the charity fraud and fighting with Anna Wintour. She's not helping herself at all, and it's so sad because she's one of the best fashion models ever.

I love the cast here, not nepos (sorry Hadids and Kaia, even I like you a lot), not instagirls like Em Rata, just some glorious names. Maybe Meisel didn't made the campaign because he don't work with some of them (Kate, and Claudia, and I hope it's everything good between them). One black girl, one from East Asia and one latina makes me think there's a lack of representation (in 2025!), one just one of each group, I mean 😭 The good thing is this cast is not cringe by the absense of the models that rules fashion today just for the number of followers or being related to someone. Amber, Kristen, Claudia, Natasha... I miss to see these girls doing covers and campaigns, and bringing them back is so positive. Just liking for the cast, but not the result. The group photo is gorgeous though.

Perfect cast should be:
from 90s - Amber and Carmen
from 2000s - Daria W and Isabeli Fontana
from 2010s - Lindsey W., Anna E
from 2020s none - but If it is necessary it would be Gigi, Mona and Vitto

From current cast:
Claudia was Gianni's girl
Poly was ultimate Gucci girl from 2000s
Saskia was Lagerfeld's girl
Kate has never been Versace girl to me
Liu, Mica, Anok did many Versace shows, but no less or more than Kati N., Caroline T., Adut, Joan S., Karlie Kloss, Abbey, Kassia etc. or even Julia Nobis
Don't know who are Mila and Jacqui

This video shows why Kate had to lie down, look at the difference in height between her and the other models...

They could've replaced those 2 unknown girls in the back with Gigi, Vittoria, Carmen, hell, even Naomi. I've never seen someone fumble their final campaign harder than this

Jacqui makes sense IMO. Like she's the last Versace girl under Donatella. In the last campaign when she was a an unknown and an exclusive in the last show.
But Mila? I felt like she completely faded. And maybe because I just am not a fan of Natasha in print, I don't get her either haha - great on the runway though.

In that case then Mila makes more sense than Jacqui, she was in several Versace campaigns (and still in some Versace ads last year) and opened one show in the past and was exclusive at one show

I'm pretty sure Kristen said in her models.com video weeks ago that she shot a Versace campaign by Meisel but they seem to have edited the part where she mentions the photographer's name out. Not that the results would have been any different lol but I wonder what happened...

For me the cast is very Donatella.
Under Gianni, she was the one instrumental for the castings. We know of stories about pushing for models that Gianni didn’t necessarily cared for.

Kate is a Versace woman. She did fantastic campaigns with Avedon under Gianni, she opened Donatella’s first collection and she is probably one of the top models of the 90’s who had the most campaigns.

Amber is of course a Versace woman. No question about it. Her Versace campaigns by Meisel are part of fashion history. The Versace collections that had the most impact on Pop culture had campaigns with Amber.

Kristen and Claudia were bad walkers. I’m sure Donatella chose them for the Gianni shows and campaigns. I don’t even think they closed a show at the time.

The late 90’s to mid 2000’s is such weird era in fashion and I don’t know which model would have represented that era the best.

If would choose one, I would Fernanda Tavares….She was really The Versace Brazilian woman. Gisele is a bit too obvious and I think if we put her supermodel status aside (which gave her longevity and many Versace campaigns) she was a Dolce & Gabbana and Dior woman for the most part.

I like Natasha Poly. She is the model who made the transition from the 2000’s to the 2010’s. She is one of the Glamour girls of the time but I would have gave the campaign to Lindsey too.

I think Gigi deserved to be there.

I don’t like how the black and Asian girls are standing out here. I think Immaan should have been part of the cast.

Seeing Liu here like this makes me wonder how many Asian models got a Versace campaign?

Reminded me of this particular shot, for Vogue Italia in 1994 which had been executed wonderfully.
Not my favorite campaign of Versace, maybe because i'm not a fan of group shots. The cast isn't bad, Kate was a Versace girl in print, Claudia was a favorite of Gianni, Amber is Versace, Natasha Poly also walked for a lot of shows and even opened SS09 if I remember correctly. What's really missing here is Meisel, he should've photographed them since Versace and Meisel have done great ''collaborations'' together.
I don't miss the nepos, Gigi would've made this shot worse with her pout.

I want to see the male model casting, Donatella has her POV when it comes to men....

I see Naomi more as a Gianni model, not Donatella’s! I would have chosen Raquel, one of the Hadids and Imaan Hamman… and of course Gisele

Girl, Naomi didn't get any Versace campaign under Donatella until 2018...I think she will be alright!
Same with Claudia, no?
Before this, she was only booked by Donatella last year.
I barely care whether Naomi got booked or not..
but yeah, I was being sarcastic..lol

From the 2000s girls they only put Natasha...Sad..
Should be more girls from this era. I'd like to see Daria, Isabeli, Hana, Karolina, Trentini even Vlada would be a nice surprise (Piergigio booked her this year for the Ralph Lauren show, why not?

Surprise not to see Angelina Kendall here. She's very close to Donatella now

For some reason I'd love to see Vlada landing a Versace campaign, she did a lot of shows but never opened/closed one, I wonder if she was not a Donatella favorite, or M&M or Meisel, has she ever worked with them?
