Gisele Zelauy was born in 1967, in Brazil. Although she was raised in Sao Paulo, she lived in Europe for seven years to pursue her modeling career and currently lives in West Hollywood. She was photographed by Richard Avedon for the Pirelli Calendar (1997), Giorgio Armani called her his favorite model and Moschino called her the new look of the 90’s. Her secret to her success comes from being herself and having fun while she is. Whatever the reason, the International fashion world fell head over heels for her.
Between a successful career and family, Zelauy had a difficult time choosing between life goals. When Gisele was a little girl in Brazil, she had two dreams of ambition: to be a successful model, then a successful writer. Her talent and determination simply demanded it. "She achieved supermodel status, and about her writing, there are very few works that have given me the surprises, loud laughs and appreciation for her natural psychology and turns of phrase as has Gisele's," confirmed her agent, Tom Dark (Heacock Hill Agency).
Competitive, driven, and passionate about her beliefs, she enjoys a good discussion, refuses to take herself too seriously, and is often accused of being a soap-opera-drama-seeker. She is intelligent, eccentric, and blunt -- but as some say, the first superstar from Brazil.
That's a video of the author, Gisele Zelauy, storming the fashion world in Europe, Brazil and New York. She earned the affectionate nickname, "Zelauy" (pr. za-LOWIE) in fashion and entertainment periodicals internationally. Zelauy is first recognized internationally for her contribution working with Karl Lagerfeld as muse for Maison Chanel.
