omg leyla its so great to see you back!! ( sorry i had to post it!!) we've missed you!!!

Is it true about the quality of the Givenchy Bag, thinking of getting one for my sister who isnt as quite careful with bags...she's pretty rough in fact...balenciagas are great for my sister , chanels not so great cause she's always dropping the bag on the floor, it gets dirty , wrinkley...

givenchy bags never have been known for being as high quality as other prestige brands....it really isn't worthy of a $2000 pricetag... i'd say it's more on par with marc by marc or coach as far as quality goes. but the nightingale is a great bag to toss around, you don't have to baby it or worry about it at all.

on another note-- a friend of mine recently got back from a trip to asia. she bought a medium "overnight" in ostrich ...it's so nice :heart:

^ to each their own ...

i don't think they're worth the money. givenchy's bags don't really make me moan like other brands in that price range do. even prada has much nicer craftsmanship, stitching, leather, details etc.....

Does the Nightingale come in gray or silver? I am thinking of getting a lighter colour but not too light. The ivory one is gorgeous but it looks like it'd get dirty quickly.

i don't think i've seen an authentic grey or silver. but i've seen replicas in grey and silver :ninja:

i don't think the ivory would be so bad, all you have to do is use a good protectant over the leather (like vectra or apple garde) and it won't get dirty so fast.

I really like the one in post #830. It's kind of grayish-silver I suppose. So it's not authentic? That would blow, it's so pretty.

that one?! girl, i think you need to check your monitor. that's black leather with black snakeskin trim. the only thing greyish-silver there is the hardware. and of course that one's authentic, she paid $2500 for it at nordstroms.

WOW I AM DUMB.  The lighting in the first picture made me think it was gray. :judge: I think I'll save my money for it first then decide what colour to get it in.

I just realized you were talking about my post. Yes, the first pic is horrible. I took that pic at night with flash so the color looked greyish silver. It's actually black with a slight shine. I took another pic for you to see in natural light without using flash.

Aw, Nefredity you didn't have to. Thank you! It's so gorgeous and I'd imagine very practical too. The size and everything.

My pleasure. It's actually quite heavy since I got the maxi. I think because the leather is also so thick. But it's so chic so I don't really mind it.

I just ordered one of the new-but-looks-original ones from barney's, with the ostrich handles. Very excited to see it in real life!
