^^^ Yeah, but yours won't have the Givenchy label on it.
No doubt mistress_f! All those loud, desperately-seeking-attention patterns are in-season instant-status for a certain type-- and those types are plentiful.
Several years ago, I would wear shorts over leggings. It's not a shocking look by any means-- bike couriers dressed like that all the time. But with how that look is so identifiable now with Givenchy men, I would never wear it again. I don't think he's a one-trick pony-- I think he's just adamant and dutifully doing his job for the investors. As many have pointed out, why bother trying new things when this mess sells? And Riccardo himself seems to have settled into the celebrity-designer attitude where he seems to feel with all his superstar BBFs wearing his designs, that's the only affirmation he needs to continue doing what he's doing. Why bother taking the time designing immaculately-constructed high fashion with pricetags north of $3,000 that won't sell much, when sold-out status is guaranteed with graphic tees for $500 each?
I won't compare him to Formechetti, as I think Riccardo is genuinely talented and intelligent-- but, he seems to be falling into the same pattern as the former: BFFs with superstars and living it up has made his work suffer greatly. And as long as his brand is appealing to the superstars and all the kids, he seems content to just go with the flow instead of pushing his designs. I can't blame him really; He's living like a superstar.
That ugly-as-all-hell jacket with the baroque gilded-flame design is the same design that was on tacky-a*s Beyonce's dress worn to the MET gala. I just thought her dress was mostly her input-- but, guess he liked it since it's in his collection now... Bring on Kim and Kanye fronting the new Givenchy campaigns!
