It's all a tad silly, but despite wearing lipstick and skirts, Thom's men still always look masculine-- that's much appreciated, unlike some lesser and overhyped designers. And once the actual clothes arrive in the shops, they're impeccable and immaculate as can be.
I think that's just Thom's way of taking the piss on his version of cricket; it being a very proper sport where even the players' appearance is ultra-conservative. That, and the Moncler Gamme Bleu branding has always been about athletes and ultra-masculinity. With just somethig as simple as black lipstick on the whole look, he's infused a somewhat drag/Goth feel to the whole, pristine all-white look: Kind of like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa. To me, anyways.
