Tisci's work for Givenchy is growing on me every season, this looks really good, it's wearable without looking departmentstore-boring. The shoes are indeed looking better, after the catastrophe of his first RTW show, that's not a big surprise though... some of the worst footwear I have ever seen!
I really like how this looks both edgy and sophisticated at the same time... it doesn't scream out "goth" to me, though. It's all just very nicely made classics with a twist, these are clothes that a diversity of people could wear.
maybe if you would have just seen the black outfits and some of the tough-looking footwear you would have gotten the impression that it was a very gothic looking collection... it's not much different as with the pictures I was showing in the Rochas thread - this was the selection I picked out, but it doesn't speak for the entirety of a collection. Most of the shops that I was seing in there simply just sticked to the flower-y pastels and prints, just have a look on the pictures at style.com and you'd get an entirely different point of view.
I assume that a lot of it has to do with what you are seeing in the end... that's what I really love about buying - you eventually shape the image of a brand by yourself with the selection you make. I would have probably sticked with the black looks in here myself, if I had to chose... plus that fabulous, beige blazer with loose drapery... it's gorgeous!
