Gloss Haters

I have to use gloss or lipstain for color because most lipsticks make me look like a clown i think :P...I've always wanted a perfect red...but alas, I've gone through tubes of gloss and still no red lipstick hat doesn't look so harsh.

Try MAC Lustreglasses and Lipgelees, they should be less sticky, but I didn't try them yet since Lipglasses have more beautiful colors

I cannot stand the feeling of gloss on my lips. It's all I can think about if it's on my lips. Besides, I don't think shine makes lips look any plumper, infact I think it does the opposite. I've noticed lip stains seem to give the illusion of larger lips. Unforutantey I have over 100+ glosses, most of them never used and I still buy them.

My last obsession is lip balms 'cause I hate feeling glosses on my lips but here I haven't tinted balms so I always wear plain clear lips without any colour - a bit boring.

i like my rosebud salve too.

mac has new lip glosses out called lip gelees. they com ein a tube and aren't sticky. mac also has lustre glasses which i like because they aren't as sticky as the lipglasses.

i just use rosebud salve everyday  , and my lips look great and not sticky... and really hydrates them too!

I carry this EVERDAY in my purse..and i used it soo much during my summer trip back to Vietnam..it works great.

I like gloss..i just hate having to reapply it every minute. I'm using mac tinted lip conditioner..I LOVE THIS STUFF! it's the color of your lip..only prettier, and it looks somewhat natural..not too glossy.

i love Lancom's Juicy Tubes...but bad to wear on a windy day when you have sunnies on though..haha

Also, Napoleon Perdis Lip Lacquer in champagne is great...it is a natural colour and can be worn alone which looks really sexy witha nice lipliner..or over lipstick to give it a glamshine

I prefer lipsticks to lip glosses as glosses make my lips dry and don't last long even though glosses can look very pretty. I used Biotherm gloss last week - had to apply a lot of Clarins balm afterwards to save my lips drying out.

MAC's Lustreglasses are great ... you can't feel them at all and the colors are sheer as opposed to the almost opaque Lipglasses. However, I'm with you guys on the overly glossed thing. Flypaper = no. I have pretty full lips so I'm using soft, natural colors like Chanel in Capri (totally gorgeous) and uh, cherry Chapstick. You can't go wrong with Chapstick.

I love wearing gloss, haven't tried the new mac ones though, but i do love lipglass in c-thru it's my favourite colour is nude with a slight sheen i wear it with really heavy black eye make upo, rather 60's, my boyfriend hates when i wear gloss..."...ergh sticky lips" haha.

I think just plain old vaseline is good for pure natural shine without stickyness though.

I refuse to wear lip glosses because I hate the oily look (sorry its not sexy, its gross). I also don't like it when hairs stick to my lips, its not a good feeling.

MAC has these great lip conditioners with SPF, in what appear to be horrid colours but they go on really light, pratically clear. I have "Gentle Coral" and when you apply it its nearly clear so that added with a nice colour lipstick give you the perfect amount of shine, non sticky, and it doesn't look like you bathed your lips in baby oil.

They finally wised up and now sell the lip conditioners in lipstick format as well as the jar.

i love the look of gloss if it's done right, but i hate it on me because i dont think i have the lips for it. i look like a duck with collagen.

i just buy lipgloss and admire at how pretty the tube is

Ugh, hate gloss. Glad to see I'm not the only one. It looks so tacky and gives (most) people a p*rn-star look

not a gloss aficianado
don't seem to do much for me...
rather: line my lips w/ a my-lips-but-better liner, slick on some Burt's Bees, and then fill in with the liner.
for a wee bit of oomph, add a bit of colour/shimmer to middle of my lower lip.

all that being said, i'm interested in buying Sephora's Pucker your Pout (or is it pout your pucker) lipgloss-plumper .. since it moisturizes & adds a bit o'colour & hopefully will pout me up.

I love gloss, especially for us African American women. It just works really well with darker skin tones. Darker women have trouble finding lipstick colors that look nice, we are always stuck with dark red or brown lips, with lip gloss you can do so many different colors and your lips pop since we tend to have larger lips instead of looking big and dry.

hehe, ditto, hate it -mainly on myself- never worn gloss, even though i tried.. like strut and babyJ said above, makes me self consious for a while and then i'm bare lipped and i hate the feeling, i feel naked without my lipstick.. (i use just eyebrows, blush, minimal or no eye make up and no foundation, so the focal point is my lips, they need colour and gloss is always so pale looking)

i'm a matte lips girl and the most glossy i can ever go are the shu uemura's , armani or ysl 'satines' :ninja:

^I'm with you on the matt look Lena! I like lip stains better than glosses. My hair just blows everywhere and ends up taking the gloss with it and plus they just look a bit too full on with gloss. I always wear balms to give lips a slight sheen. I wear nude lipstick a LOT too.
