what do you guys think about her supposedly collaborating with Christina Aguilera? I'm hoping that Alison will guide her in a new direction ...

That's what Scott was already posting about. I would think this was the label forcing it on them just like the forced appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Frankly I think it would be boring.

I was watching That's Entertainment 2 and I noticed that one movie clip was just like the video for Happiness. I was going to try to see if I find it on youtube but I already forgot the name of the movie.

sorry for the extended one-man discussion. i had to say what was on my mind because it's just burning my brain, this.

ohmygoodness scott - how did i miss this?! haha, mustve been the busy holidays.

but yes, i agree with everything youve said & i know now that youve seen clearly just how i feel about it over on the GMB.

man, that day was stressful :p & i dont think it will ever happen.

in that case-

this was taken at the gap collection photography exhibition

is that the same clutch she carried recently to the turner prize ceremony?!

am i seeing that right?

^it definitely looks like it! same silver trim and everything.

i was trying to figure out if i've ever seen that dress before but i come up blank. it has all the elements of a vivienne westwood yet also the structural attributes of jean-pierre braganza who she is known to wear.

if you find out - let me know!

im loving the sheer bits of it & the velvet-y looking trim

id love to see more photos of it from other angles...

here's a brighter shot of the outfit. i am blocked. it really looks familiar but i can't seem to find anything recent that even resembles it. btw,her trousers look satin not leather in this one.

Alison Goldfrapp has spoken out about her dislike for the never-ending conveyor belt of cloned female singers nowadays -reserving special scorn for Duffy.

Speaking to Thelipster.com, the star also said she did not understand why Pete Doherty is called as a genius.

Speaking about female singer/songwriters, Goldfrapp declared that Duffy is merely an Amy Winehouse clone - even though she's got a great voice.

She said: "Great, we've had Amy Winehouse, so now let's have 10 of them, and we'll train them up. That's essentially what Duffy is. I think she's got an amazing voice but essentially she's been trained to sound and be like that.

"It wasn't some crazy idea she had. It was a business plan. Ultimately, if you're talented then it doesn't really matter, but I suppose what it does is breed, whereas it would be nice to have a few runts around."

Goldfrapp also had something to say about Babyshambles frontman Doherty.

"Like the tradition of 'rock star' - what's his face, Babyshambles? - classic, ****ed up, takes drugs, he must be a genius," she mused. "That really winds me up because he's read some books on poetry, so therefore he must be a ****ing genius?"

and i do have to agree with her about duffy, amy whingehouse and all of these brit school singers sounding like clones.

i have a query...

would anyone know or may have it,the track 'pretty baby' from the john parish composed soundtrack,'rosie',alison sung on? i can't find it anywhere, digitally, and all of the retail sites are no longer selling them.

i had to post this because they both slay me with their dry humour

"smells a bit like pets!", "like damp pets"...*nose to her tea* then *turning to sniff the back of the sofa*

i find it rather a revelation that she hates doing videos and that doesn't like any of them. perhaps that's why she wasn't present in many of them for seventh tree?? she did the A&E but was only in Happiness in spots and of course did that strange sort of advert-style video for Caravan Girl.

alison with her broken foot at the tate summer party...

she reminds me of someone in this shot??

^ I don't know, but it's really not a flattering shot. :ninja:

just watched the link you posted... so funny
I sort of thought she was being facetious about hating the videos though!

^in other shots alison does the same kind of pose, sort of hiding on her side like a child hiding behind one's mummy when they meet a stranger.

hehe...i had to re-watch it's so hilarious  maybe she was being a bit facetious especially the end of the bit, when she said all of them and had that smirk on her face...

if anybody has been curious,i finally found and bought the john parish scored soundtrack to that belgian film rosie....the song pretty baby that features alison on vocals. and if you would like it please PM me.
