Gossip Girl (TV Series)

Finally saw the ep. My internet connection is driving me crazy. Anyway

Chuck is a DICK. I just don't know how he is going to be redeemed. I don't really want them to redeem him. On next weeks ep it looks like he's being carted off to the nut house. That is not going to get me to feel sorry for him.

I seriously don't think the prince thing will work out especially for another 22 eps next season. I just want Blair and Dan together.

Eww Charlie going after her cousins ex. GROSS. Vanessa needs to go. Her character is so pathetic I feel sorry for Jessica. I hope Nate can do at least something exciting in the next ep.

Serena is pathetic. I agree with whoever said that it was interesting how even though Blair knew it was Serene who leaked the stuff she didn't retaliate. Has a little bit of Dan rubbed off on her.

I agree with everything you said. I can't believe they would pretty much hang in front of us the great relationship that is Dair, and then throw it away for the abusive relationship that is Chair. I was always indifferent to the 'abusive relationship' label people had plastered onto Chuck and Blair, but after this episode, there is not doubt in my mind that that is what it is. Abusive. So we get happy Blair with Dan, but because Chair has always been "endgame" we now get HURT AND HUMILIATED Blair? Nice one writers...

Final episode- outside the Plaza, again...together...

Well, that's just disgusting. It seems like they worked really hard to make Blair the girl that teens want to be and to have her returning to somebody who would have punched her in the face if she hadn't moved is so unbelievably appalling....
Somebody, make the writers stop being so terrible!!!

They are going to do either one or maybe both of these things: Drag Blair to Chuck's level a la how the getting traded for the hotel thing was really Blair's own fault and/or get a bigger villain who makes Chuck pale in comparison - already confirmed since Jack is coming back  No way that they were going to make Chuck look bad - nope, it's everyone around him who just doesn't understand

Besides, true love conquers everything you know. Like, what is domestic violence really? Just a tiny obstacle that can be overcome if you love him enough

This show is beyond sci-fi. I loove how everybody changes their mind at the tiniest information. So bad it´s good

Blair is definitely suffering from Stolkholm (spelling??) Syndrome. Of course, she goes back to Chuck like she always had because he knows how to manipulate her lack of self-esteem to his advantage. Of course, it does help that that shipdip of a friend Serena is trying to guilt Blair into going back.

I wonder how Leighton feels about this? I just discovered that she's involved in domestic violence awareness campaigns (& has been for several years) and when she was Tyra Banks show a few years back, she even went so far as to say she's witnessed domestic violence firsthand. (She didn't elaborate: only said it was personal)

It makes me even more disgusted with the writers for not only writing that scene but defending Chuck. (However it's VERY noticable that she's no longer pro-Chair in her interviews. She says she would pick IRL and that Blair deserves a prince. No mentions of Chuck/Chair at all.)

And Boomer, we all know you are a Chair fan, but even you have some decency and not be so dismissive of domestic violence with your little "winks." Studies have been done that prove that when DV & r*pe is shown on tv, it goes up IRL.

It bears repeating: "Domestic violence isn't 'the tiniest information.'"

^When viewers can act so dismissive and trivialise these matters, it's no wonder the writers think they can get away with it.

While I'm stunned at the Chairstans reaction (I shouldn't be, but I am), I'm willing to give most of them a pass. Most. They are in their teens. Most likely have never had a serious relationship. Most likely have not experienced domestic violence firsthand (or know someone who has). Most likely are not educated on how the media can subtle/obvious messages through ads/shows/movies/etc.

And, when you're a teenybopper, you idolize the people you follow. So, of course, Ed Westwick fans are going to idolize Chuck Bass--because they haven't learned how to separate the real life actor from his fictional character. (Look how many of his RL tumblr pictures are labelled "Chuck Bass" by them.) (Leighton fans do the same things to her. Well, some Leighton fans do. Most of her fanbase seems much more aware that she's not Blair Waldorf IRL.)

One would expect in a few years they'll grow out of it. It's the mature/adult fans of Chair who defend JS's "not abuse" statement who tick me off. Do you not have any children? Do you not know someone who suffered from domestic abuse? Do you not have any common sense? r*pe culture is pervasive, but just because it's there doesn't mean it's right.

^^^^^^OOOpsie daisies!

When I meant everybody changes their opinion at the "TINIEST INFORMATION" I meant whenever one character hears or overhears no matter what they believe it like it was the word from God. I find it to be VERY noticeable in the last season.
Serena and Blair turn against each other at the tiniest gossip even if they are supposedly best friends. They don´t ask around, they don´t investigate or look for proof...they just believe and act..... This is quite weak plotwise. The same for Chuck and almost all of them.
I WASN´T talking about violence domestic or any other. At all.

I didn´t read any of that discussion, and PLEASE don´t put words in my mouth.

Part one of the two part season finale airs tomorrow night?
Who's watching, and who is sitting this one out?
I am planning on watching it. Curiosity has killed the cat.

^I might watch - depends on the responses to the episode. I don't count in the ratings anyway

They're not showing the two part finale back to back? I'll see what people say here and on ONTD regarding the episode.

^ Who's watching!!?? Those who don't will have their house accounts cancelled at Bendel and will be denied a table at Daniel for wearing tacky clothes!!

Um, wow. So everyone's boycotting GG now?

I'm definitely watching. In fact, I'm totally looking forward to the next two episodes.

I'm sure the ratings will actually be higher for the next episode thanks to all the Chuck controversy.
