GQ April 2019 : J. Cole by Awol Erizku

They should just turn this magazine into digital only and call it a day. Such an underwhelming cover. The resemblance to The Weeknd is too much to bear.

Also, #NewGQ??? Please!

This magazine lives to this day at this state while Details ceased.

Ugly and Lazy as f*** I´m just stunned that many guys still buy this.

It's not a particularly strong cover, I much preferred their March one. Their content has been lacking a bit: I flipped through the March issue and there was barely any fashion content. in the past the March and September issues of GQ and Details were usually heavy on the fashion, but I feel now they are focusing more on music and hypebeast culture...it is as if the Complex website had a magazine...

They do have a magazine! Lol

LOL @ Kate!

I can't deal with a magazine who butcher their own imagery by running mostly collage-type layouts. It just looks cheap, like Grazia, but for men. I know the main issue is really a shortage of ads, which leads to a shortage of pages. But beyond that the magazine churns out content which we can get from websites. There's no exclusive factor. The highlight of last month's issue was the cover and accompanying editorial. And to make matters worse, Welch is actually getting rewarded for running this magazine in this awful state. The reality of American GQ folding or going digital is not too far from now.

I'm not one of those who are constantly pining over the loss of Details. In fact, I struggled to relate to it in the final years. But men's wear, and men's grooming and wellness is really big right now. Especially amongst millenials. But how can you expect a man who wears dirty Vans to appreciate and underscore the finer things in life.

This is an awful cover.
Nothing about this man is aspirational or luxurious.
GQ is DOA.

Is he wearing a robe on the cover? I feel like there's always a #NewGQ, but it's never my cup of tea.

I wish Vogue Hommes was a monthly issue instead of GQ!

The image has to be very well executed to be a textless cover. This is plain lazy.

Magazines like this make me wonder if print is really necessary... or relevant.

It will be an easy pass. GQ needs to step it up. Put some efforts. Esquire has been doing some marvellous jobs.

the cover story and editorial are up on GQ's website and it's boring as hell.

That handwriting is such a joke. Even kids won't find this appealing.

Funny you should mention Billboard, because this actually looks like a Billboard magazine cover. Down to all the empty space and font.

I like a lot of his stuff (although that would constitute mainly his cameos on other people's tracks ). This cover is a bit whatever though, he looks a little dazed (and confused).

Plus the Feb issue was 98 pages! I really don't know how they're still publishing on a monthly basis, it's tragic.
