Ricky looks great here. American GQ could never (choose this as a cover image, content is probably shared globally, though).
Actually is part of their shared content

Ricky is forever beautiful. I even liked the bleached facial hair, if only because it made me appreciate the natural coloring more.

Ricky Martin is practically a nobody one hit wonder in America. Why would anyone put him on a cover.

I like the pleated pants. Im super into pleated pants right now.

That's a great cover. Ricky looks wonderful.
If I still collected magazines, I'd buy it.

Ricky is too gay for American audiences for a cover, I suppose. After all, Cillian Murphy only looks lesbian.
Too gay, perhaps, but I'd also add "irrelevant" for American audiences to that statement.

My gay comment was facetious, and clearly Cillian is more relevant with the prolonged buzz for Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders. That said, I do think Ricky Martin is a level of famous that transcends current relevance. For whatever reason, he’s a household name. Infinitely more famous in the US than Max Verstappen, a recent US GQ cover star, for example.

In Latin America he is huge, like Shakira, Thalia or J-Lo. And the Latino community still listen to his songs in the USA. Even he's not my cup of tea, I give him the credit to be an icon for the people here.

Ricky is starring jn Apple TV’s huge new series, Palm Royale. It begins this month.

A one hit what now? The guy literally led the 'Latin explosion' His music may not be at the level of 'She bangs' or 'Living la Vida Loca' in terms of sales but he's still way up there and can still fill up stadiums and is in film and theatre too. Lets also not underestimate the Latino market both in and out of the US.

"On October 11, 2007, then-mayor of Miami Beach, Florida David Dermer awarded him the key to the city of Miami Beach.[341] Puerto Rico named August 31 the "International Ricky Martin Day" in 2008.[297] The Government of Spain granted Spanish nationality to Martin in 2011, for being "recognized in different artistic facets".[342] In 2018, in recognition of "his dedication to the island and people of Puerto Rico, his philanthropic work to eliminate human trafficking across the Caribbean, and his commitment to the arts", the singer received a proclamation naming June 7 the "Ricky Martin Day" in New York City.[343] Throughout his career, Martin has sold over 70 million records making him one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time."

That said, i love the cover everything works including the text and composition. Shout out to the editor, they can teach the US GQ a thing or two.
