Lol, no need to add that it's a 'gimmick', Anlabe! You love it! I LOVE it. Everybody loves it!
He did it again, a campaign accompaniment to an equally ornate collection. Alessandro Michele is a genius and singlehandedly rejuvenated my interest in Italian fashion. I don't want to get too cosy without Luchford, but this is spectacular!!!
I'll say it again, their campaign creative direction is always on point for picturing these weird, kooky, fussy, dated and referentiative clothes exactly where they should be in a way we haven't seen before. That shot of the golden knight, the plane-fishing group shot, the mermaid tail shot, the shot of the pond with the redhead in the yellow dress... so much love. Iconic right out the gate.
Oh and I love the shot of the woman in the yellow dress in the water. Is it a recreation of Ophelia by Millais ? It's so appealing visually. The whole campaign actually. I think this is genius.
Wow!!! Love it!!!
I was dissappointment when I didn't see Luchford involved with this campaign, but Wow! wow! wow! I'm pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and well executed this campaign turned out!
The real frustration about Gucci is that the campaign doesn't support a strong collection. They are all great and somehow memorable but the fact that it's so hard to link them to an actual great collection makes it hard for me to appreciate to it fullest.
These days, more often then not, I mainly just skim & browse the ads, but in this case, I'm sure I'll actually STOP and look at the image, which is good enough.
It still doesn't add anything to my annual Christmas list to Santa, though.
