Thanks for this, runner. I really hope they will put some content on their website, because information on them is so hard to come by. Anyway, I would like to contribute by posting a pair I own.

you are welcome. thanks for all the pictures you are posting. I like the last batch. Don't you love how they put the paper with a long description of the leather tanning tradition in Tuscany?! It's great.

lovely, their prices aren't that expensive either. well, relatively speaking that is.
thanks runner, faust... :flower: hope that either of those pair will be the next purchase for me.

lovely! i truly could appreciate their works... now i'm really itching to get that vacchetta model you've posted, runner. btw, did they change their name to guidi now, instead of guidi & rosellini?

i'll try to spend more time here, just that i've been busy with a lot of things lately. :flower:

Hmmm, I am getting the feeling that with the new website (especially the look that it projects) and the Paris address, that they got some investment and are gearing up for the "alternative" high end market that appreciates traditional craftmanship coupled with a fresher feeling of design. They could easily occupy shelf space next Carpe Diem/Paul Hardnen/Collection Privee, etc... I wonder if that's how things will go.

And, yes, battles must post more! :flower:

yay! for battles
yes last year they started to call it guidi and make footwear carrying more of an aura descended from the designers they have been working for.

maybe that's how things will go faust.
I think lift was behind them about it.

^^ i do think they're moving towards the aforementioned direction too now. i mean, after all these while, they've been involved with ccp, c diem, etc. i'm really looking forward into their future endeavorment... seems like this kind of "traditional craftmanship coupled with a fresher feeling of design" is the niche market for a-list celebs. just look at how well ccp boots were selling that poell had decided to stop making them.

anyway, it feels nice that i could finally find time again...

indeed. as a matter of fact, atelier just got another batch in... limited edition, as usual ;)
I think it's the right way to go. It's sort of the way of haute couture, on a smaller scale, of course - cratmanship sustained by a niche market with money and a feeling of appreciation (hopefully).

yes, precisely. that's what i was trying to say, i had a hard time to put it so. :flower:

i believe those who've been buying these 'exclusivity' are already an aesthete themselves - buying into the appreciation which is an individualistic taste that one can't buy.

i like the ones in the first post...
but not so much when they start to get a chunkier thicker sole...
it's less refined and less elegant imo...

i like when they are so thin and soft that you can almost fold them in half...

I think some of these pics are warped (right English?) somehow though
