Harper's Bazaar Australia January/February 2016 : Miranda Kerr by Steven Chee

^ but to me this looks so low fashion, or maybe it's the model and my views on her that brings this down...

I already knew it was going to be bad before I even opened the thread, but I went ahead and opened it anyway, ugh. It's eye-rolling. Zero fashion. A blank stare. Wow, how daring.

I certainly have no issue with explicit nudity - or glamour modelling - and have bought publications that contain that type of photography because I've appreciated the beauty of it.

At the same time, speaking as a woman buying women's fashion magazines, the type of nudity I expect to see in them has to have an association with self-care (fitness or looking after your skin) or a certain lifestyle that appeals to my self-identity. That shot of Miranda doesn't fall into any of those categories for me. I don't get the feeling that it was produced to appeal to me at all - I feel the opposite of a connection to that picture.

You always hit the nail right on head! This shot has nothing on those great Irving Penn shots in vogue. I still remember his nude of an extemely obese woman accompanying an article about the obesity epidemic in America. Or Gisele showing just a glimpse of butt crack for an article on back pain.

It looks like belong to GQ or Esquire or any mens magazines. But well, this is Miranda and as usual, this is so attention seeking.

^Completely understand the point Bazaar being a fashion publication. Out of ten issues a year, however, I don't mind whatsoever the sight of one or two daring covers. It's not like the sight of bare skin is anything drastically new on fashion magazine covers either.

Interesting...I'll say this, my main issue with the image is that it doesn't really fall in line with this magazine's cover aesthetic. Just look at all the covers for 2015 and you'll instantly spot the difference. I mean, they've even managed to class Lara Bingle up. It's always good to try something different, but maybe an image more attuned to their style and readers wouldv'e been better.

Okay, so there are definitely more fashion-friendly cover shots in Miranda's editorial. The ones from the pool and the other shot on the balcony, fully-clothed would have made a more.. conservative cover. My favorite image, I must admit, is the opening shot with Miranda on the bed - very Testino. Thanks, Fashion Mayhem!

The head shot of Miranda in the water would have made a great cover, imo! Cannot deny she's quite photogenic.
Diana Moldovan's feature is the highlight for me. It's a shame we don't see more of her in top tier titles.

Thanks so much for the scans, FashionMayhem! :flower:

I hate the cover coz i keep wondering what the people in the rooms below are seeing! The nudity was unnecessary as the rest of the pics are pretty amazing! Very sexy

I'm not usually a fan of Miranda Kerr, but her editrorial is gorgeous. Siren is as well! Might actually buy this magazine!

I think Miranda's editorial is better than the cover leads on. I also enjoy Diana's pictures, she looks great.
