great spotting:flower:

I think this only looks okay when it's done in black and on a funeral or something like that

otherwise this gives me too much of a costumee-feel.. and reminds me of my moms old wardrobe:ninja:

The Hussien Chalayan ones are really beautiful I would wear that to my pretend avant-garde wedding

True! Must say I totally agree.
But I just love McQueen's interpretation though....

[Really] Vintage chic! I don't think any femme below the age of 35 would wear these, unless for a play or something. Some of these are still very artistic.

Ooh, I love this! My favourite trend of the season. I hope they become a big trend, it would be charming to see women wearing these.

My favourites were from Luella (the black ones especially) - but I like the Alexander McQueen ones, although I think they were hairnets, actually. I'm so sure I saw some good ones at John Rocha's show too, but now I can't find any pictures, sorry.

The question is: how can one wear these without looking too costume-y? To what occassions would this look good for? Other than funerals, of course...

Yes, here are the John Rocha's ones (marieclaire.it)

I have a bunch of these...But they hard to match with clothes.

I really dislike the Alexander McQueen ones. They look so uncomfortable with all that hair(greasy looking hair I might add) stuck onto your face.

^ Ah well, I think they were more for the show than anything to be actually sold at McQueen stores ;)

Has anyone seen any good hats with veils in stores recently? Those of you who already have a veiled hat, did you get it brand new (from where?) or is it vintage/second hand?

Now in the Harajuku Style thread, some fear that the looks there would be too costume-like. Well, this is even more costume-like. It's something you have to be careful of trying this out.

old school, but with modern appeal, these are definitely sexy and classy

Great trendspotting, crowfrogs!.:woot:
The Chanel pieces are my favorites, not so much the upper part but the spirals? on the face, they're beautifully finished.
I always loved veiled hats, especially when it's a subtle part what they're covering, it's very intriguing and even provocative..
