though i find it a bit gaudy, i really like the look. the white chloe blouse - it reminds me of old grandma's that wear gold reeboks they're so cool though.

i see lots of people just piling on longer necklaces and brooches to get the look of this trend--- i love it... it is a way to build on previous buys.

I bet I could name the company where wome of this work was done for the designers. When I was working freelance in NYC, I worked two weeks at a place called Micheal Stuart Designs (I'm pretty sure) hand painting white jeans with a floral pattern. All kinds of wonderful embellishment was going on there, commissions from many big name designers (as were the jeans I worked on) but the beadwork was especially excellent and elaborate. I would have loved a permanent job there.

Not a chance.Though we were allowed to take pairs home to paint them in the evenings, I had always been taught to have the permission of the "name" before making any reproductions, even for my own portfolio, and since we were working for a contractor rather than the "name", that didn't seem possible. I just looked on the web to see if by chance I could quickly find a pair on Ebay or some such (this was summer 2002 when the painting was being done) but I didn't find them. If I tried to find pictures of the runway show they might have been tied to, would that be Summer 2002?
