Henry Cavill

One of the great things about a movie that films on location is that the residents simply never know when they and Hollywood will come together. Such was the case with Pastor Scott Hodge at the Orchard Community campus, who encountered Superman himself as Man of Steel was shooting.
According to Hodge's blog, it began several months ago when a Warner Brothers location scout came to the Orchard campus in the hope of securing it as a kind of home base for the cast and crew, which the staff was told would be shooting throughout the summer.

"This would," he wrote, "essentially mean renting our entire campus (building and parking lot) for about three full days where it would be used for the storage of the cast’s trailers, trucks, holding spaces for extras, rooms for the makeup and wardrobe departments, and space for the caterers to serve breakfast and lunch each day to a couple hundred cast and crew. So after lots of consideration, conversation, contract reviews, etc…we gave them a thumb’s up….AND THEN worked really hard at keeping it all a secret (which wasn’t easy by the way!) until it was all said and done."

All of that took place last week and it's obvious that Hodge and everyone else there thoroughly enjoyed the experience despite the fact that the campus was "flipped upside down" by the fact that they were invaded by a couple of hundred people.

Enthuses Hodge, "It was a ton of fun and a real pleasure to host what was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was kind of surreal too, seeing celebrities walking past my office window and down the hallways of The Orchard. WHO, SCOTT, WHO??! Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Zack Snyder (Director), and Superman himself – Henry Cavill. (Sorry ladies, no Russell Crowe sightings… Fun times…great memories…and some fun stories to tell."

Filming in the Kent farmer are on full power, and today the Superman was spotted in full costume for a scene. Pictures was taken by Gregory Zonsius and published by Superman: Man of Steel facebook page.

We can’t see the actor’s face, since a black cloth was in front of his face the whole time, but Gregory thinks it’s Henry, since there’s a mic toward him. But you can take a briefly vision of the costume.

“Superman” plot official revealed

‘In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.’

Henry Cavill’s Superman goes without underpants, internet freaks out

Henry Cavill's Superman goes without underpants, internet freaks out Where have Superman's famous red trunks gone? Henry Cavill was pictured on the set of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel without the traditional red bottoms of the Superman costume. The internet saw Commando Superman, and was not pleased.

SigmaCenturion posted an entire editorial rant against the missing trunks at Comic Book Movie "

The main part of Superman's costume is a blue body suit. The trunks help to break up the blue and help unify his color scheme as well. Most of the time the trunks seem to be part of the body suit. The boots and cape separate from the main body suit. Without the trunks the only red on the body suit is found in the emblem or shield. When the trunks are gone the focus of the costume is pulled towards the blue body suit because the eye is drawn to larger objects defined by color... I think it is a big insult to older fans to change the costume after all this time. Nothing was wrong with the old suit. I hear reasons like its outdated and uncool or his costume doesn't make sense because it isn't armored. I don't think it needed changed at all.

On Newsarama the comments were fairly mixed, but there were plenty of pissed-off original Supes fans:

Mavrik:
He needs the red trunks in the comics and the movie. Superman does not translate well to the real world. He never has. So to try to modernize him in the comics or to make a more realistic version of him in the movies is impossible. Not without completely changing his look and at that point he's no longer Superman.

Charlie Says:
He looks naked without the red. Why would they do that to the most iconic costume in all of comics? Bad move.

Never has the comic-world gone more crazy over underwear... on a guy!

I despair I really do. First it was the fact that Amy would stay red headed then all this over some red trunks. I understand that the die-hards are passionate about Superman but really? Is it that much of a big deal? He looks great, the suit looks great, no one has seen any footage yet (not even any of us, we're being told bugger all, only what we really need to know-I have seen some polaroids though!) and that will be the judging point. Such a hullaballoo (yes I just used that word ) over a film that's barely started shooting! Rant for the day over! :D

i always thought the red underwear on superman was funny so im glad they took it out

I don't understand all the brouhaha. They released a promotional still and he wasn't wearing them. I don't know why this is suddenly unexpected. He looks good as Superman. I'm interested to see how the material of the suit films since it looks so scaly in pictures.

Yeah they dyed it black for the role. Best not to give the Superman scary fanboys anything else to b*tch about!

Love the new suit! Glad they got rid of the underwear and updated it to look more "Kryptonian". Henry's looking spectacular!

hmm, I´m not sure I like those "exoskeleton-ish" thingies on his back/sides... it also looks like Spidey´s suit... maybe it´s because I´m a Marvel kinda girl LOL
