Hermès S/S 2016 Paris

I agree, it looks like a capsule collection. It doesn't even feel luxurious enough for a mega-brand like Hermes.

Not that Lemaire was all that revolutionary, but his collections had a mystique to them and even the simplest pieces looked super luxurious. This is just simple in a cold way. The clothes don't even look expensive.

Hopefully this was just a palate cleansing and we'll see more development in seasons to come.

Yes, it's a bore.

But that's besides the point. It's not meant to entertain a bunch of ADD gawkers who will never buy the clothes.

Last season I thought it was shockingly boring, but then I saw it in movement and I realized the clothes have an energy that can't be captured in a photograph. You need to see it move, and ideally, you need to feel it on your skin.

I'm going to withhold judgement until I see the video. But so far, I agree with the sentiment that it's missing some oomph.

I almost fell asleep scrolling the pictures myself

What is there to comment ? Probably one of the most boring collection I have seen in my life since I'm interested by the fashion world. Kudos !

The thing is even it's the most basic piece in an Hermes collection, there's elegance, luxury and personality about it. Everything here has zero charm. Those shoes are so Zara. The choice and fabric doesn't feel luxurious. And the bags make me depressed.

I must admit I am disppointed ... Leather pieces are great, but the rest is not standing out at all. I love minimalism, but here something doesn't work. I would have wanted to love this, but I cannot.

What a disappointing collection and direction. I didn't like her first season either and I can see she cannot capture the very special and unique essence of Hermes. Hopefully they'll get rid of her quickly.

I hate that she wants to introduce so much trends in Hermes. The label is about beautiful clothes and not trends like sneakers and slouch attitude. This could be anything from Kenzo to Zara.

she won't last thats for damn sure. With the huge budget Hermes has, this show is very Akris lite lol.

this is beyond boring

we ask, whats the point of a fashion show, this doesn't need one

The most unbelievably dull, forgettable and useless collection ever.

She needs to go.

This could be any brand. Just lifeless.

this is the first thought that popped up in my head while I was scrolling down the page. It's wearable, many nice pieces, but really this could be any brand, this collection lacks any identity.

Very safe and boring, but wearable, like everyday chic, i guess. Thats how safe it is lol Could be anyone designing this.

Very boring and safe collection. It's nice but could be any brand. I find it hard to believe she had anything to do with The Row. I really miss Lemarie here but I'd love to see Stefano Pilati do Hermes! I do like those pleated pieces with the prints though.

So I watched the video. The clothes are dripping in quality, refinement and craftsmanship. And they won't age.

So I think it's so funny that so many on here are bored. I think for Hermes that's a good thing.

It's luxury. And those that can afford these clothes, the real Hermes customer, they have everything here that they need.

^^That may be true, but then why not just do buyer and client appointments, ship to stores and skip the show? If you're not going to give an oomph for fashion week, I say don't bother. In no way am I saying put on an extravaganza, but give the audience an IDEA and CONCEPT at least.

^^^ Yes, absolutely.

Very understandably ultra-luxe pieces for all women. But as a show, this is deathly bland, with nothing memorable and I’d be nose-diving into the floor if I were seated there. These designs and its presentation would be best reserved for an intimate-type setting where the guests can view and study the pieces close-up, informally.

I think this presentation has the opposite approach to the Comme one LOL Comme was all extreme, arty showpieces with the more practical ones reserved for the showroom. Both are titanic labels and they are free to present however they please, of course. But wouldn’t a touch of the dramatics liven this Hermes presentation, and wouldn’t a small offering of more practical designs worn with the more outrageous looks be a great manner to remind the world-audience why Comme is still so influential 40 years into Rei’s vision…?

Boy… do I miss the likes of Gaultier, McQueen and Galliano ever more now who knew how to put on thoughtful and visionary shows when I see shows like this one and Comme’s latest.
