^^^ Yes, absolutely.
Very understandably ultra-luxe pieces for all women. But as a show, this is deathly bland, with nothing memorable and I’d be nose-diving into the floor if I were seated there. These designs and its presentation would be best reserved for an intimate-type setting where the guests can view and study the pieces close-up, informally.
I think this presentation has the opposite approach to the Comme one LOL Comme was all extreme, arty showpieces with the more practical ones reserved for the showroom. Both are titanic labels and they are free to present however they please, of course. But wouldn’t a touch of the dramatics liven this Hermes presentation, and wouldn’t a small offering of more practical designs worn with the more outrageous looks be a great manner to remind the world-audience why Comme is still so influential 40 years into Rei’s vision…?
Boy… do I miss the likes of Gaultier, McQueen and Galliano ever more now who knew how to put on thoughtful and visionary shows when I see shows like this one and Comme’s latest.
