Hiding Bobby Pins

I was wondering how people create buns and updo's without pins or ties showing? I really want to wear my hair half up-down with a bun for an event, but without a clasp. Any pointers?

One thing that definitely helps me is buying pins that are close to my hair color. They made bobby pins in brown, black, blonde, white, silver, etc. so it is pretty easy to find a good match. This way, if you have a pin sticking out somewhere, it is not as obvious.

I don't know when mine is in a bun i can sort of attach them inside the bun to my head. I don't know how to explain. But yeah get ones to match your hair.
