I have to dress "high fashion" for a class im going to....im not very educated on what high fashion is and where to get it. Please help me find sites and stores that are REASONABLE PRICED and high fashion! Thanks!
You have to dress high fashion for a class? What kind of class is this? But to answer your question you can try bluefly.com for a lot of great designer clothes at a cost way below retail.
i think you can play it safest when dressing in all black and choosing garments that show your eye for quality of fabric and expertise in cut. i don't know what your budget is but i feel like i should also point you to yoox.com also.
You may choose "looks" from the online designer's collection galleries on sites such as style.com or firstview.com ... then go thrift-shop shopping and match it to the closest! That's the best option penny-wise and it's good-ol' time fun!
If you can sew, you can copy high-fashion designs and/or adapt them to your own style. I did a rendition of a Marc Jacobs look a few years ago, when he rolled out his scallop-edged collection.
I got this idea from my great-grandmother, who used to go window-shopping in the ritzy districts in Berlin when she was a young woman in the 1920s, then go home and make her own version of the dresses she liked best.
Thanks for the replies! The type of class this is...its a modeling class. Im going shopping next week, I was thinking I would start out at thrift stores, and work my way up to shops...putting something together along the way! Thanks!
By the way, As You Like It, thats an awesome dress, and a great idea! Thanks!
