yeah , you put toothpaste before going to bed on your pimples and next morning , they are dry and white so you push them easily ... hehe

Nonononono! Don't do the toothpaste thing - it burns your skin, sometimes aggrevating acne! It might work for a few people, but I really wouldn't risk it...it worsened my skin.

The aspirin mask is the BEST home made therapy, as it contains salicylic acid like many acne products.
Crush 6 aspirins into powder, mix it in with yoghurt, apply it on your face, leave for 15 minutes, then add a bit of water and gently scrub off the mask.

Another bonus is that it leaves your skin EXTREMELY soft and brighter looking..which is amazing for my skin, a stubborn piece of assss

Is there anyway you can rework the asprin recipe for spot treatment? My boyfriend sometimes gets pimples around his mouth area but he refuses to buy any pimple creams and there is no way he's going to wear a mask on his face. Could you just mix the ground up asprin into a paste with water?

I read in some random magazine that a few drops each of lemon juice and water will help. They said to apply it before bed so the spot better in the morning (but when I don't know whether they meant improved or cured--'better' is ambiguous).

I don't know whether it works, though.

In my opinion, nothing works better than seeing a derm or using in stores products ! ;) Cause if all those homemade thingys worked so well, derms and beauty companies wouldn't even have to exist. Believe me, I tried everything at home!

    - Lemon "juice" on pimples : That's one hell of a painful treatment! I almost wanted to cry when I had that on. Burns your skin and doesn't do anything.

    - Toothpaste : Sure dries up the pimple but it's way too strong. I have skin that's sooooo not sensitive and it jusst "burns" up the whole pimple AND the skin surrounding it. Makes big "brown" splotches on your skin that take about 5 days to fall off.

... I tried lots of other things as well, but don't remember them all, for the moment!

she used to wash her face with a soap bar when she was younger. i read that somewhere but don't quote me.

anyway, i've heard that you can just mix crushed aspirin with water to make a paste and put it on the pimple. it's supposed to reduce the redness and swelling. i think. i've never tried this though. mixing it with yogurt sounds better.. i don't know why.

and lemon juice and toothpaste are supposed to dry it out.

Yes, you can mix it just with water.
And to whoever asked, it's best if you mix it with plain yoghurt.
I do the yoghurt thing because this reduces the dryness that aspirin can cause, and it REALLY helps in softening the skin. I used to just apply plain yoghurt not mixed with anything on my face when it was rough, and it has helped as well as some AHA products out there.

It's my number one mask right now, it really does work great, and helps those clogged pores and blackheads too.

I am pretty sure you can. A lot of girls on this other message board do this mask even though they are on Accutane, BCP, Retin A, and other treatments and antibiotics, and this has only been for the best.. :flower:

I also use the aspirin mask but I mix it with Cetaphil. It's works great too!!

Before I wash it off, I wet my hands and rub it so it exfoliates -- my skin is so smooth and clear afterwards!

Let me tell you the ABSOLUTE best way to remove a pimple.

    Neosporin!
Yes that is right- it is the best way to remove it!
Or any anti- bacterial oinment I would assume.
Just dab some on when youre at home or at night and watch em leave in a few days- I would say 3 the most depending on the severity.

OH MY GAWSH! It is the absolute best.

Try and Ill give you my address later so you can send me flowers...

hmm, I might actually try that aspirin remedy!
    but one question;
Can I use Children's Aspirin instead of regular Aspirin? It's the only thing I have:/
