How do you carry your Balenciaga? POLL.. Shoulder vs Arm vs Hand..

i've been wondering about how you all carry your balenciaga.. i always like my bags on my shoulder, and feel weird carrying on my arm on in hand, even though they look better that way.
how many of you carry on your shoulder too?

though my city fits comfortably over my shoulder, I'm the type who is constantly rummaging in my bag for my phone, my keys, etc. so it's more covenient on my arm. I'd say second place goes to carried by hand, third to on my shoulder and last (or never) to under arm like clutch.

and obviously it depends on what type of balenciaga you're carrying. I imagine if I had a hobo, I'd carry it most on my shoulder.

Mostly on my arm.

But I'll agree, if it was a twiggy/ city classique, it'll be on my shoulder.
(I carry my teal classique the most.)

depends where i'm going/what i'm doing. for instance, i usually carry it on my shoulder if just going from one place to another, or walking down the street..but if i'm in a shop, shopping, or in a bar/resturant talking to friends, i've usually got it on my arm. specially when shopping, its just the most convenient place for it-if its on my shoulder it could slip off, and if i'm carrying it in my hand, i've only got one hand free..but carry it over my arm and its out of the way and i've got both hands free to look through clothes on racks, ect.. plus, like you said, it looks really nice that way

btw, the SA in Burberry petted my bag the other day. We were talking about a small, cute little bag in the pink check color, and she motioned to my bag and said "is that a Balenciaga?" and i said yes and that i'd had to order it from Browns of London as theyre so hard to find here in SF. She said "its beautiful" and leaned forward and sort of caressed the leather on the front of the bag

I usually carry by black city classique on my shoulder (using the handles; I hardly ever use that strap because it's so long and it sits awkwardly on my shoulder). I find this position to be easiest for me. Sometimes, I carry it on my arm when I'm in a show off-y mood, LOL. And once in awhile, I wear it messenger style (but hardly ever).

This is an interesting poll! I was just talking to someone about this today. I noticed that most people carry it on their arm, but for me, it is an unnatural position. I don't really have trouble rummaging through my bag while it's on my shoulder, but I don't keep much stuff in my bag either (just keys, cellphone, wallet, and sunglass case).

I have the Twiggy and somehow I think it's nicer on the arms/hand carry by the handle then using the shoulder sling strap. Am I the only one who feels this way ??? But of cos if the need arises, I will not hesitate to use the shoulder sling strap

About 50/50 for both--it looks better on my arm but its more comfy on my shoulder.

i carry my black classique mostly on my arm or by the handles, with the twiggy i have used it on my shoulders and it feels comfortable

I've been thinking about adding a chain extension to the shoulder strap (at the clips) to allow me to carry it messenger style... I love carrying my bags that way.

^^ I use the regular strap that came with the bag (I got it recently, in May). It is a bit difficult to take on and off when I wear it that way, lol.

A chain strap is a great idea!

i wear them (med & small) on my arm / shoulder by handles, not the strap.

i hate using the strap on my balenciagas. its such an awkward length (at least for me) and the bag esp the medium hangs in a funny way when i use the strap.

so now im thinking.
since im such a shoulder bag kinda girl.. maybe i should have gotten a twiggy.... hmmm.

i can kinda wear my medium in the messenger style (a la mary kate last year) whem im wearing just a tanktop... but im kinda short so it might not work for you if you are tall

by messenger style, you mean across your body, not on your shoulder, right? wow.. how long are your straps?
my strap, from 2003 or 4, is only 23.5" long end to end.... are they making it longer now?

course not.
the straps are the same length i think.
its just that im not that tall so i can put it across my body like MK in the pic.
im taller than MK, so the bag sits a bit higher on me but it looks alright i guess.

I don't use the shoulder strap unless I'm traveling. I should have clarified that when I carry mine on my shoulder I use the handles. and I'm the same height as the Olsens too and felt strangled when I tried to wear it across my body. I must be husky or something.
