I don't know what section to post this but..

I'm looking to get a tailor and I was wondering what is a good rate or average rate a tailor should be charging?

what exactly are you looking to have done?

I think it all depends on where you are, what you want done, and the level of quality for which you're looking. Can you give us some clues? As You Like It would probably be the best person to ballpark it. :flower:

I'm working on some pieces but my sewing skills aren't up to par, i'm looking for someone to help me work on some custom pieces, I'm pretty average at making patterns, so I'm guessing I pretty much want some custom work done (from sketch to final piece). Sounds like its gonna be exspensive, but I only need a few pieces done.

Any ideas?

I really need to practice my sewing.

It's cheaper in Thailand (tailoring  )
Damn you, I was just about to say that! grrrr

it really is a matter of local currency and country
but in Athens (greece) a reasonable price would be around
... 250-500 euros for a hand tailored,
traditionally constracted and made to measure men's jacket,
including best quality uk fabrics from a list to choose for.
One can also provide own fabric but the price doesnt go down dramatically..

i know because i plan to make some handcrafted mens jackets for my line..
they are quite expensive... but they are the best
