i-D Winter 2012 The Wise Up Issue : Grace Coddington by Arthur Elgort [et al]

Great covers, the one with Grace, the best. Great than her got a cover this mag & the eds look promising.

I thought Iselin's cover from the fall issue was going to be hard to top (I'm still on the hunt for it LOL), but majority of the covers are SO good. The covers with Cara, Lena, and Grace are by far the best, imo. Now, the issue I have is whether to get the mag with either Grace or Cara.
Oh, the beauty story posted above is quite stunning. Hope the rest of the content is superb.

Grace's cover is already sold out on the i-D site, I really hope I come across it in stores..

I really wish I'd get Grace's cover,
she is amazing.
and Lara proves yet again just how perfect she is.

Someone at i-D reads the forums. Page 30 is a whole spread on why they have so many covers lately.. ha.

'This year to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, i-D published 60 cover stars; one for each year Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has reigned. i-D's founder and Editor-in-Chief Terry Jones explains why he believes multiple covers are the future and why - with i-D's punk origins - he chose to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in this way.'

There's a few questions about why he chose to do it, but apparently it stemmed from the first issue of the year, The Royalty Issue, where they were to have multiple covers but he decided to make it last for the full year. 60 covers. The last question of the mini interview is -

'Who or what would it take for you to return to publishing just one cover?'
'Maybe next year we'll do a whloe issue of just cover winks.'

That's such a relief, i've been getting tired of unneeded covers every issue.

Cara's cover is the best hands down. i-D quirkiness at its best.

Ahh... that makes so much more sense! It's kinda a cute idea but I still think it might have been a bit much. Maybe they should have announced the 60 cover's in honor of the Queen's reign in the beginning of the year, so people weren't questioning why i-D has so many covers.

Really nice although most of the clothes look the same with the exception of the last shot which kinda looks like Madonna circa '82/83.

I seen Grace's cover at the store over the weekend. Lara and Laetitia's edit is wonderful, but not that wonderful to warrant a purchase. I must have flicked straight past it. Because I was astounded at how mundane the issue seemed to be.
